Would someone explain to me the purpose of all the %2, %2F and etc. when we build links with redirects using the CJ advanced options. I basically know what they stand for but for what purpose are they?

Simply put it's called ASCII Encoding and it used as a fool-proof method of passing the URL through the redirect.
Otherwise the url runs the chance of not being read properly.
