    Away For 2 Weeks
I will be on vacation and away from a PC for - gasp - two weeks. And yes, I am anticipating severe stats withdrawal. Brian knows how to reach me if you have an issue with my program at tarice.com . I will be unavailable from 7/9-7/24.

I am taking the family on a wild west excursion, sort of a Chevy Chase Vacation style getaway, though hopefully we will not have to strap anyone onto the roof. On the schedule: Mall Of America, Mount Rushmore, a somewhat tame river rafting excursion in the Tetons, Viva Las Vegas, Hoover Dam, The Grand Canyon, Sedona, followed by a gut wrenching drive back to Indiana.

I will be a happy, but exhausted camper when I get back!

You can almost see me trying to trade HighOrbit.net for gas at some desolate station in the middle of a desert, can't you? Everytime I go to this one forum for selling off a few domains and raising some money, I end up BUYING more domains and it costs me, sheeeesh.

I can't believe you put Mall of America in the same sentance as Mount Rushmore!!!!

Hey, I've done this several times with my wife and four kids. Stick to those natural wonders (avoiding the Mall of America) and you can have a very cheap vacation that is most memorable. We've done trips where we follow the Oregon Trail on our way to Yellowstone before. After several years of doing this I asked the kids one year if they had a choice, would they prefer one of our Yellowstone vacations or a trip to DisneyWorld. All four of them said Yellowstone. Personally, I like those kind of vacations because the family is not destracted with doing things and spending money, it is all quality time together where memories are created that last a lifetime.

Sounds like a great trip. Can I come?

See this is why it pays to be tech savvy. EC will spend two weeks going to see all these wonderful places while I, with Google Earth can visit all these places without missing lunch or dinner

Have a good one EC. We'll keep the light on for ya.

( EC hangs head in shame..... )

I know, I know, they don't have anything I can't buy from 7-days' site, lol. Still, it's the merchandizing ambience that makes my wife's heart flutter. And, Flutter is good .

Neil- We let the kids choose between a balloon ride across the grand canyon, and whitewater rafting, and they chose rafting. I think the idea of going for a balloon ride over a huge canyon made them a little nervous.

Oh, that's nothing. Wait until you hang over the rail of a five story mall rail (Mall of America). They have four levels of shopping mall and I believe the top level is theaters. You really should have left that for you last stop just because you won't have any room in your car if you buy (and you WILL buy) something at the mall. Did you know there is an amusement park inside the middle of the mall. Thank goodness I did not have my kids with me the three times I have been there! LOL

Have a nice trip! And don't forget to buy some supplies like water bottles, extra blankets, etc...from MY site of course

Oh, and you ought to have a tarp or 2 just in case you end up putting stuff on the roof. Needless to say, I've got links for those... Um, hrm...something's wrong with that picture... Well, uh "test your links" on my site to get those couple of tarps you're sure to need.

Have a great time, I hear the sun is hot out there maybe you should take a tarp and use it as a tent. How its a good idea to always have a canvas laying around you never know when you might need it etc. Would make a great content page lol Have fun.

You are visiting two of my old stomping grounds. I have lived in both Grand Canyon National Park and Grand Teton National Park. They are both amazing places. Breakfast at El Tovar at the canyon is great. You can't beat the views. While you are visiting the Tetons be sure to hike around Jenny Lake. You won't regret it. Have fun!

You chose the wrong time to go to mount rushmore. All you will see are a bunch of germans hanging down and cleaning them. I heard that they might even have a tarp over part of it for the next 2 weeks

500? Is that a typo? LOL. I shot about 2000 in 3 days in Las Vegas and surrounding area without going to Grand Canyon....

Get some sleep and can't wait to see the photos...
