How Watching TV Can Get You Traffic
Was watching the local news while i was working and they had a segment geared around a merchant, a merchant i have on my site. At the end they mentioned them having a XX% coupon. I had better ones for that same merchant. I emailed the news anchor about it. She emailed be back telling me they do these segments a few times a month and will plug my site, said she loved my site. Local TV loves local businesses, at least that's been my experience so far. If you happen to be watching and they start talking about something where your site is a good fit, shoot off an email. You can get some nice traffic and i always thought it was pretty cool to see your site on TV.

Thanks for the tip, Trust! I would have never thought of that. Great idea.

A friend of mine writes a blog about local news (I host the site for him) and he said he's gotten traffic when some of the anchors have mentioned it on-air. Of course he doesn't make any money on the site so it all goes to waste!

Nothing like free press to get the old site moving.

Um, geez, don't you think someone could take advantage of that?
