    This might be old news...
I got a message through one of the networks from a guy who is really on top of things researching his affiliate partnership data (NOT!)
    Hi,

This is **** ****, VP of Affiliate Marketing for http://www.realsmartcjmerchantbuyitspendbigsite.com. To begin, thank you for your business. The reason I am contacting you is because you signed up for our program on CJ and your EPC is very high.

As high traffic affiliate, I'd like to offer you access to campaigns which we only give to our to top affiliates and offer you a 50% payout level bonus
I have just recently gone back online, and have just recently signed up with CJ again, after a couple of years or so. I am just barely showing up in two of the three major search engines. My epc is zero. my traffic is not much more. was this guy being sarcastic and trying to make me mad? 'cause the subject line indicated that this was his second time contacting me!(?) if he knew that was the second time, and still no response from me, you would think he had his ducks in a row? he must be on crack, or something.

Ummm...okay, maybe I'm missing something (wouldn't be the first time), but what is the big deal? I mean, maybe you can benefit from his lack of research? Is it something worth promoting for you?

I have had an AM go through similar motions with me, saying how I 'converted well for them in the past' when I had ONE SALE for them total, and dropped them after a year or so because commish wasn't really good enough for me to promote them differently. Was I annoyed with his cluelessness? Sure. But at the same time, if he had offered me a better deal, I might have tried it out again and even put them on my site more prominently.

Is he on crack? Maybe! But that makes it more fun for you.

    Talking
Could also just be a form letter that was sent to all affiliates.

I regularly get the, "pssst, don't tell the other affiliates, but do we have a deal for you", letters. I'm sure they are mailed to everyone.
