    Statistics Update
I went to check my click-throughs and sales this morning and got zero across the board. Where I am just starting out, some days I don't get any sales but it is normal to get quite a few clicks on each merchant. This morning it said zero all over the place yet there were people clicking through all day yesterday according to my website "latest visitors" log.

Why might this happen? I have never seen it hit zero on all stores even when people have been hitting it all day. It doesn't add up.

You are right. I went back and checked and it was all the Befree accounts I linked over to that has all zero.

As for CJAccounts it seemed about average.

A = The merchants brag that sales are better than ever and the sacks of money are piling up.

B = The networks flap their traps that tracking is normal and the sacks of money are piling up.

A + B = The affiliates shake their piggy bank to see if a few new pennies have been deposited.

There must be a hidden variable somewhere.

The owners may be in the dark as well, especially if their cut is not missing.

    whatcha doin cj?

with thousands of unique visitors daily to my website, that leaves me really puzzled. where have all my clickthrus gone?

Sale Reporting on BeFree appears to have caught up.

Clicks do look like they were underreported yeterday, but the sales did track.

underreporting of clicks equals underreporting of sales.

if you're seeing that much sales, you can just imagine how much more you should have if all clicks were reported.

Supposedly the clicks and sales tracking are on different systems so it shouldn't matter.

While that much seems to be true, there are indeed logical issues with the claim that the tracking is almost never affected by anything.

    WayToGo,

My clicks at CJ have been down as well and I have already factored in the time of year, but still something doesn’t seem right...

Good point... Michael, you don't know that ALL sales were tracked for sure.

No, what I was saying was that my number of sales was quite a bit higher than the number of (reported) clicks should have generated. Using the Binomial Distribution calculation on it, there was only a 1 in 500 chance that I should have generated that many sales from that number of clicks. This was with a merchant that I generate a very significant

So, I stand behind my original statement. I believe sales were correctly reported, but that clicks were underreported.

Keep telling yourself that then... I'm not saying they weren't reported correctly, but I am saying that you don't know for sure that they were (especially considering that you don't know what the ACTUAL clicks totaled). Even if it was just one or two sales that are missing, your binomial distributions can't take that into account.

If you're talking about only one merchant, then you don't have enough samples to even make a hypothetical statement about cj as a whole. your samples were not collected randomly and are too biased.
