    Question Datafeed Application Problem
    Brian,

I've got a problem with applying for datafeed access. I can check the boxes to apply for FTP access, but there's no button to click to submit this. I just see a tall rectangular white box centered just below all the merchants. Is something supposed to be there? I'm using Camino on Mac OS X and don't have a current version of IE available. What can I do?

    From Microsoft.com:

I hear that Microsoft will no longer develop Internet Explorer for Mac - is this true?

Yes. In our commitment to the Mac platform and our Mac customers we are focusing our development efforts on Mac Business Unit products like Office for Mac, Virtual PC for Mac, MSN for Mac OS X, and MSNŽ Messenger for Mac.

So basically Mac users are out of luck for future versions of IE. I'm stuck with IE 5.2 which is slow and worthless.

I did try IE 5.2 in ShareASale and the FTP application worked, but I think Brian should come up with a better way to do this considering not everybody uses IE.

    Thanks!

I just tried with Camino on OS X and Firefox on Linux and it works on both. Under the text box was a "Apply for FTP access" button.

Strange, I'll have to check it again later. What version of Camino are you running?

Camino v0.8.2 on Panther. Not sure how up to date that is, I mostly use that box for video special effects work with Shake & C4D, and not web browsing.

I see. I think my version of Camino is a little newer. I've got the nightly release. Strange that it would work with the older version and not the newer. Hopefully it's nothing. I just know that certain features of SAS don't work on Camino. The EPC graphs don't work nor do the return day charts.

Can you PM me a snapshot of the page, as well as the source code on that page as it is displayed for you?

    Agreed.

Once a designer starts requiring specific browser brands/versions it's an early warning sign that the core design was not thought through.

For in-house projects, where IT staff can dictate the configuration of all systems accessing a site, a designer can use any browser-specific things they want. But with Microsoft's marketshare falling and Linux and OX X's rising its in the designer's interest to honor the platform independent pholosophy that drives the Web.

    Snib,

I've been doing some research on this and when searching for "textarea camino HTML" i am seeing a lot of references to Camino having problems rendering textarea elements...anyone know anything about this... (one of the elements not displaying properly for Snib is the textarea in Camino browser)
    Thanks,

    Thanks Brian!

The Java plugin worked like a charm and now all your charts are showing up beautifully. I don't know what's up with the textarea and submit button. I looked at the source and they seem as normal as can be. The only thing that I can think is the css is throwing it off. Maybe it's the background image you have in your .sbar css class?
