What do you think about the change in # of ads shown?
Here's a link to the announcement:
    https://www.google.com/support/adsen...y?answer=22506

Just spent lots of time optimizing my site and I saw a very gradual increase. I was thrilled, it had worked. Now today, I'm down more than half of what I have been steadily making over the last month.

Maybe they actually made the change last week and that's why I saw the increase? Who knows. I'm just bummed today because Friday's are usually my best day.

Unless google is showing PSA's, a decrease in impressions would indicate fewer visitors to your site.

Since a few days ago when I started whining about my adsense revenue being down, it has more than doubled what it was previously doing.

Has anyone else noticed a change since then?

My EPM this month so far is about 1.6X last month on the same traffic. I don't like the look of the reduced-density ad blocks, but if they're putting more money in my pocket, I guess I won't complain too much.

I think it looks like crap when viewed on my site, but yes, my earnings are up also... so I guess I'm happy.

I wonder if this is combat people lining up the ads under pictures?

Wow, I hadn't even thought of that. If your site consistantly gets the same amount of ads, you'd probably be ok. Sure am glad I hadn't implemented that yet.

It wasn't against the TOS but I wondered if it had affected the rate of Google image ads that were being used.

I had also wondered if this change is coming about to combat possible loss of actuall ads available once the Awords changes take place?

I tested the 4 images above the leaderboard theory on one site and now it looks all funky when one or three ads are shown... It still helps bring the ads down more towards the hotter zones instead of being waay up at the top... I'm thinking of moving them down further, below the header, and removing the ads. I know that should help click-throughs, but my members might complain...

    Here's the link https://adwords.google.com/select/qbb.html

Basically, keywords will be active or inactive. If your minimum CPC doesn't meet the recommended minimum bid, your keyword will become inactive and will not trigger your ad to run.

To restore the keyword to active, you can either optimize the keyword or increase your minimum CPC to meet the recommended minimum bid.

I'm guessing (and I could be totally wrong) when this change takes effect, there will be a large number of ads that go inactive and will stay that way until they are either optimized or CPC increased.
