It's always amazed me how much traffic Yahoo gets, and then they can only come up with 21% of the searchers...

Does anyone remember what this looked like a year ago? Wasn't Goggle in the 60's?

I'm with Noth - I also thought Google had a bigger piece of the pie in the past. Not that 48% is anything to sneeze at, but it seems lower than what I remembered...anyone know what it was last year? Two years ago?

Maybe you're thinking that because Yahoo used to use Google for their results?

Maybe, Trust. But I'm almost positive I saw at one point that Google was getting near 70% of the search traffic. Maybe it was about something more specific, and I missed it.

Well all the webmasters and affiliates are using it to check up on their listings and the competition. Have to figure their rating is a bit inflated.

I think MSN may have cut into the pie a bit in the last year although I never kept track till of late. What I am seeing is virtually no change since google drastically altered their algorithm 7 months ago which I find a bit surprising.

@ Trust: I might be thinking about the former Google-Yahoo partnership. I suppose some old figures could have lumped Yahoo in with Google.

I wonder what percentage of Google searches are actually webmasters checking on their site rankings? It would seem some people do hundreds of searches a day, every day. That would add up, but wouldn't really be a legitimate search, in my mind.
