I'm having some problems with my natural SERPS at Yahoo for my Mambo powered site.
Even though I properly renamed .htaccess, I haven't quite figured out SEF url's for Mambo.
In the meantime, I've got some great results coming from Yahoo for specific products, but the link that Yahoo puts in the SERP to my site defaults to my front page, which will not list the product they're searching for.
You can see where that would be bad for conversions. And I'm getting top 5 ranking.
So.... Does anyone know why this would be happening? The SERP result will show "www.mysite.com/8/808/8", which should be the correct page, but it's not where clicking the title takes them.

Are you using the standard mambo sef or a modified version?
I had this problem awhile back and it seems to have something to do with the trailing slash on the urls(I think Yahoo wasn't picking it up for some reason, if you add the trailing slash on the url yahoo has it will probably go to the right page).
Mambo redirects any page not found to the index page(I'm not sure thats such a good thing)...It was awhile back when I was having the sam problem and I cant remember what the circumstances where exactly because I've have tried a few sef hacks and I've been using mambo for over a year now so I've been through some upgrades and I no longer have those issues with the latest version.
You might want to try a redirect in the htaccess for each page that you know yahoo is messing up if it is not to many.
Mambo has an EXTREMELY active forum.
Have you tried posting there?Suz~~GearGirl~~

Not yet Suzi. I was at work when I posted this, and I try not to visit forums when I'm at work...

Problem should be fixed. I DL'd Xaneon Extensions, and now have TRUE SEF and HUMAN FRIENDLY urls. I hope Yahoo keeps up...

Yes the xaneon solution is good but it doesn't incorporate with the components I use and most of my content is generated in these components so I use the standard sef.
Like I said - I haven't experienced any problems with yahoo spider lately.
Glad you found a solution!Suz~~GearGirl~~

Not necessarily a solution yet... But it's an attempt...
