    Exclamation New Transaction Reporting feedback
Please post feedback on the new Transaction Reporting Release here. Please provide contructive feedback, bugs or anything we might find useful as suggestions. Please try to provide enough detail that we fully understand your comments. Also, take some time to use the reports first and get used to them before you post more subjective opinions on the new features. Let's just stick to the basics and try to identify anything unusual or difficult to use.

    Thanks.

We already know that you want to be able to export reports in XML (like you could before).

We also know that the reports are too wide (not sure if this is a bug or by design - I'll double check).

Can a moderator please make this sticky? Once again my access rights have changed and I cannot do this myself.

What's the value of Advertiser Action?
We have already the Ad ID (a pretty good idea) IMO it's redundant
For my last few sales, I have:

Commission on All Products (Glad you're telling me, but look at the length of that)
    Sale
    Lead - Short Form
Online Purchase (what's the difference between Sale and Online Purchase?)
    Item Sale
    Advanced Sale
    Item Based Sale

If I understand each merchant can have his own definition of a sale.
It's taking valuable real estate for nothing.
Could you put a code or nb instead or move it?
Or you can add these 3 colums with the page loaded when you click on Ad ID, so it will be available only if you need it.

Advertiser actions are good for determining which sales and leads you are generating when advertisers offer multiple sale and lead types. Take eBay or Real Networks for example - they have several of each - now you can break them out instead of seeing several sale types all grouped together as "sale". Ad ID, show which link generated the sales or lead.

I understand the need for some publishers but I'm sure there must be a better way to show this information in less space.

Also, the name of each merchant should be rationalized, I mean shortened.
If you have a ton of transactions for a merchant like:
The Wine Enthusiast - Wine Cellars, Wine Accessories & More.
You're not going to be happy scrolling all the time.

You have a bug when you try to sort the transactions by "posting date".
I'm in the Commission Detail Report by Advertiser Company for Event Date from 14-Aug-2005 to 14-Aug-2005
I used the filter to stick to Today (Will be great to have it preset to today like before)
If I try to sort "posting date", I'm getting There was an error processing your request.
It works correctly for "event date" and everything else.

There should be an option to see all the transactions on a single page.

I am not able to download the reports to any of the other formats like CSV, Excel. I keep getting the following error.

There was an error processing your request. The incident has been logged and we are working to correct the problem. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Also, the drop to select the number of records in a page of the report is not good. If there are between 10 and 25 records in the report, the only option is 10. If there are between 25 and 50 records in the report, the only options ar 10 and 25. This effectively means that I cannot see all the transactions in a single page.

Also I still don't get why it had to take 3 days to make this change. I had earlier worked in an internet company, where we have done much bigger changes and we were able to plan it so well that there was absolutely no down time for the customer.

When I hit the Reports tab, it still says the section has been disabled. I have to fish my way in from the "new transactions" link in the "today's tasks" box (as if checking stats is a "task" ha ha!).

I also would like the default to be "today."

I'm definitely with ReallyBigGuy on the amount of items per screen. There should be a way to see them ALL. Same for every part of the interface, for that matter. Even Google has a way to change your preferences so it always shows 100. Do 'em one better and make "all" a possibility! And, how about a cookie, so the preferences stick, too.

I'll have to look around some more before I make any more comments.

I think CJ should add reversal rate information for all merchants, or at least figure reversals in to the EPC figures.

If reversals aren't figured in, published EPC's are a sham.

And don't say that reversals are figured in; if that were the case, a certain merchant with a monthly reversal run of about 30% on the 10th of each month would have a negative figure EPC for about 10 days after the reversals are done.

    Nice!
I vote for an option of at least 50 transactions per page. All would be great. If we could set our own defaults as to # trxns shown and the date, that would be great too.

FYI - 3 month EPC includes (or factors in) all reversals.

I can't get into CJ reporting so I can't give you any evaluations. Has the end of the upgrade been extended or is there a problem? Been gone three days and now that I am just logging on (expecting it to be working), I can't get any stats to know what you are asking about.

I can get into the system, but the stats say they are unavailable, when clicked. Just wanted to clear that up.

    Run Reports
Sorry. This section is temporarily unavailable.

Try going to reports via the View New Transactions link under the Quick Tasks on the Bottom right - I got through using that not the Run Reports tab on the top.

    Thumbs up
    My 2 cents:

    The Good:

    1. Ability to generate trxn reports based on EVENT Date in addition to POSTING Date!

    2. Ability to generate trxn reports based on ANY Date Range!

    3. Ability to generate trxn reports grouped by ADVERTISER (so I know who my top 10 best-performing advertisers for any period are now)!

    4. Ability to generate SUMMARY trxn reports, and then the ability to go further into detail from SUMMARY to DETAIL trxn reports by clicking on the AMOUNTs shown.

    =====================================================

    The Not-so-good:

    1. Too much information - an ability to customize or filter out the unwanted columns would be nice.
e.g. I don't need to know the "Corrected Amount" for Not-Corrected trxns.
e.g. What's the purpose of the "Closed (USD)" column on Commission Summary trxn reports?
e.g. What's the difference between "Transaction Type: Sale/Lead/Imp/..." and "Transaction Type: Sales/Leads/Impressions/..." on trxn summary/detail by advertiser reports? At present, both sets are giving me rather funky and unreliable results.

    2. "Correction Reason: Other" -
Surely now there is enough space on the Detail pop-up for advertisers to elaborate on "Other" being...

    3. If I recall a saved trxn report (saved on the new system) saved on my own customized "Order By..." order, the saved report will revert to the default "Order By Advertiser" in ascending order.

    =====================================================

Overall, a very good and extensive "upgrade" IMO, although a guide on understanding the new features would be very much welcome too.

    Good job, CJ.

I have no clue where to find the reversals in the transaction reports. When I did run the reports to find all reversals posted this month last wednesday, it showed reversals of a total $XXXX . If I do it now, it only finds reversals for a total of $XX . Any idea?

I also can't find the performance incentives. (Have they been calculated yet for this month?)

    Thanks.
