    Export Source File - Help!
I've been following the instructions, however I can't seem to get my data from Excel into Webmerge.

I have a simple excel spreadsheet. There is one column of keywords. I save this as a tab delimited txt file. I close Excel. I click "yes" to all the warnings.

I open WebMerge. I click Exported File. I import the file. I set the delimiter to tab.

I see the first keyword, but no others.

When I generate 10 test pages, Webmerge only sees the first keyword.

    Help

What do you mean by "keyword"?

Have you selected the presets that match the file format you've used?

What happens if you open the exported file in Excel?

I paste a list of words into an excel spreadsheet. They all appear in column A, one underneath each other.

I "save as" a txt file, tab delimited.

I import that file into webmerge.

Only the first word is imported (i.e column a, row #1)

How do I create a file in the format WM requires? I want WM to grab each word, create a page named word.htm, then move onto the next word. Repeat.

As you may have seen from WebMerge's list of format presets, Excel tab-delimited is supported. That format is very popular and well-tested by more than four dozen beta testers. While we can't rule out the possibility of an error in WebMerge's handling of that format, it would seem unlikely given the attention it's had by so many testers for so many months.

What happens when you open that exported file in Excel?

That's an important test to run because it will help us determine if the file includes everything you expect it to.

It may also be useful to open it in a raw text editor like WordPad to see if all the expected info is there.

What are you WebMerge delimiters set to?

I get a dialog that says "the text wizard has determined that your data is delimited"

    >>It may also be useful to open it in a raw text editor like WordPad to see if all the expected info is there.

    Yes, it's there in WordPad.

    >>What are you WebMerge delimiters set to?

    Tab.

When importing the data back into Excel, after the dialog noting that it's delimited does it all import well?

If so, please email me a compressed copy of the export file so I can see if I can reproduce the issue here.

What was the outcome of the test in which you re-imported the export file back into Excel?

I haven't received a copy of the file in question via email as requested, so can I assume that was resolved?
