August 15th, 2005, 02:56 PM #1Ladies into philosophy cosmetics...
I apologize in advance if this is not appropriate, but I hope I'm not breaking any rules!
I am working on a little niche forum for philosophy cosmetics, and wonder if anyone here would be interested in registering at the forum and contributing.
This is in production, and won't be ready for a few days to a week, and the vibe is very down to earth, and I would like to make some general forum sections for women's interests, motherhood, working, etc. I would like to get a nice little community of women together on this forum, and there are so many women on ABW that I admire and respect. I know you would help me create a great, friendly foundation for this forum.
If you have any questions, just PM me.
If I broke a rule, I'm very sorry! I hope that by not posting links, and by the fact that I'm not trying to sell anything to anyone here, that my post doesn't offend.
Thanks for reading!

Thanks, Geno! I just found that from our Germany trip pics - didn't realize my hubby took that picture, but I just love it! I get so stressed out by chasing after him all the time, so seeing the two of us like that - natural and happy - just really chokes me up. I know, sappy mom stuff...
Thank you so much for the compliment!~Lisa - Brilliant Mastermind, or Nut? You decide!

The "essence" of being?
Ethics of utilitarianist skin care?
Free will and self determination in the quest for the perfect eye shadow?
The political basis of nail adornment?
Green gunpowder tea as a cleansing tonic (after all - all proper-tea is theft).
I'm sure I'm missing something here, or am I reading a typo?

Ummm...lol! philosophy is a brand. Since I can't post URLS...just search for philosophy cosmetics. Quite popular in the US!~Lisa - Brilliant Mastermind, or Nut? You decide!

Thanks, Paul. I was wondering the same sort of thing.
If your false eyelashes fall off in the woods and there is no one around, do they still make a sound? A very faint sound, but a sound nonetheless.
If you put a bunch of monkeys in a room with all the necessary raw chemicals and lab equipment, how long would it take them to produce a complete line of Faberge products?
I would rather have a bottle in front of me, than have a frontal lobotomy!
Does your bubblegum lose its flavor on the bedpost overnight?

Bummer! No one wants to lend a hand so far. Maybe I need to make a special offer or something!~Lisa - Brilliant Mastermind, or Nut? You decide!

I'm fully prepared to make some smart-arsed comments and then run if that's any help?
Thanks for the clarification, I have to admit to being a little disappointed.
LOL Cagles Mill - I like the eyelash one! I was wondering if I could get "Where are we going? I don't know? - when will we get there? Can't be certain. All I know is I am on my way (all together now) Got a dream boys, got a song, paint your wagon and come along!!!....
My eldest son did his degree in Philosophy, so I've had years of starting sensible conversations with a bizarre end goal he wasn't anticipating.

Uh,... yeah, I saw "Ladies into philosophy" and wanted to see what the thread was about. Aristotelian or more modern, logic, life philosophy, or what.
Sorry, I'm a Clinique girl. I use Clinique, therefore my skin is happy.

Philosophy cosmetics sounds very Pagan.
If you wear cosmetics to a sky clad ritual, are you really sky clad?
Does a true Goddess wear cosmetics?
Are cosmtics only for the female aspects of the deities or are they equally valid for the male aspects of the deities?
If a rabbit is used to test cosmetics so that they can't hurt anyone, does it have better karma in its next incarnation?
I think I am wearing cosmeitcs, therefore, I look better.
When you have an out of body experience, does your make-up go with you?
The philosophic ramifications of cosmetics development, distribution and use are endless!!!
Cosmetics! What you need when you want to wear more than a smile! LOL!

You may want to start off with a blog instead and then once you start getting a lot of comments coming in to it then set up a forum. As Neil said forums are really hard to get started these days.

I love philosphy cosmetics, use 'amazing grace' every morning.
I'm not sure what the forum would be for? There's only so much to say though.

Thanks for your comments everyone (the ones that made sense, and even the ones that didn't.) I really hate blogs... And this forum was so easy to set up, and MSN seems to love it so far. I'll give it a shot. Worse case scenario, I shut it down in 6 months if there's no interest. I just really like the idea. I dunno... It would't be my first loopy idea gone bad if it does sink though. If at first you don't succeed, scream, curse, and blame it on someone else.~Lisa - Brilliant Mastermind, or Nut? You decide!
