    Question Dedicated Hosting Recommendations?
I would appreciate people's advice on dedicated hosting. Can anyone recommend any particular company, giving reasons why to go with them (or commenting on experience with them)?

    Thanks in advance,

    Geno

I'm happy with Servermatrix.com. They've got very good prices, but you pretty much have to run the servers yourself.

I have 3 servers with Cyberwurx.com and can highly recommend them. Very reasonable prices, they have fast and good support and they have their own datacenter.

I've used EV1Servers.net for several years, and have been very happy with them. Great prices, great bandwidth, and tremendous reliability.

Yes, the "unmanaged" part is not so good. Otherwise, it's nice.

What about iPowWeb's dedicated servers? Any feedback?

I use ServerMatrix myself right now and jumped in when they had a sale that included Cpanel.

Geno, you mention ipowweb & ipowerweb.. Not sure if that is a typo or not but here goes..

I had individual plans at IpowerWeb and really had no problems. I went to SM because I needed more power under the hood than a celeron so I switched. I really liked what I had at IpowerWeb which is why I'm an affiliate of theirs..

I also wanted Cpanel since most of my other sites were under that and it makes it easier to transfer. If a Celeron and Plesk 7.5 or Winoze are what ya need they might work for you..

There was a typo there (ipowweb & ipowerweb). I meant IpowerWeb. Thanks for your feedback, hotspice!

I have several servers with Fastservers.net and think they are awesome. They have managed, unmanaged and several levels in between the two. They give 900mb bandwidth a month, have 24/7 tech support that is on site and have 3 datacenters. I can't say enough good things about them.

Then I'd say check out RackSpace www.rackspace.com

They're pricey, but have great service! The thing that irks some people is, instead of charging seperately for the service, that cost is just added to the cost of everything else. So it *looks like* they're charging lots for things, when what they're really charging so much for is all the staffing.

If you go there and just browse around the site a bit, a live chat thing will come up (turn off your popup blocker) and you can talk to them. Usually I'd hate those pops but it saves a lot of fishing around their site if you want some specific question answered...

Most of their departments (including sales and tech) never close, which is a big plus with me--no having to try to hit the place when it's "open!!"

I like alentus, There servers are reasonable and fully managed. They also offer a sql server license for an additional charge.(which is hard to find)

    Geno,

These folks have a good reputation for management from what I've read at SM and I had them help me with my security.. http://www.acunett.com/management/ ..

Rackspace rules. Most of the folks I know online use Rackspace. Their support is unreal, in fact it is fanatical, as they claim
