Todd, we could use a little reassurance right now
    Todd,

We could all use a little reassurance right about now to know that you all are on top of things. Or, if things are not going so well, we'd appreciate the honesty of that report also.

Can you give us an update on what is currently happening and when you expect everything to be working again?

And...oh, almost forgot....could you PLEASE have them put up our old reporting system while we learn the new one. It would be greatly appreciated.

    Ron, et al,

We cannot put up the old reporting but (as many of you have already figured out) the old data is still there. Essentially, the old txn reporting was rather one dimensional. It only showed txns as line items. We now also provide ways to view these txns in more meaningful ways. You can also now reconcile performance reports to txn repots.

Yes we are working on the issues identified. We want things to work correctly and for everyone to appreciate the new features.

We greatly appreciate your patience as we resolve the last issues.

One dimensional meaning easy? We wouldn't want that.

    Todd,

CJ shouldn't have turned off the old reporting system until the new system is in place. Anyways, hoping that things will turn out to be fine soon.

Also, if you're paying more than minimum hourly wages to your IT people, you're paying them too much.

I can log in, then I click a link and get a timeout message.
    This is really annoying!!

    Todd,
How are you going to fix the fact that it takes 30-45 seconds to even get in to the reporting interface? Is there a fix for that planned?

I wouldn't be too hard on the programmers. I've worked in more than one environment where programing was pushed by management to bring an app online before it was ready. It's more likely that someone at a high level in the company pushed the project manager to jump too soon. Most of the programmers I've worked with take a great deal of pride in their work and hate it when they're not given sufficient time to perfect it.

I have to wonder if parallel server testing was done before this app went live.

From my observation, it's likely a problem with the Project Leader or the QA Team.

OK - let's not try to play Monday morning quarterback. It is easy to say these things but quite another to have the facts and understand the size and complexity of the project. I appreciate your furstration but this isn't helping matters.

    Hey Todd,
In case you are unaware, this is our business you guys are wrangling here.
    • It takes forever to get reports, if we can even get them at all without being knocked out of the site.
    • We have no idea when we are getting paid. I bet the same is not for you!
    • It seems that most of us were perfectly happy with the way things were before all this mess. CJ's desire to keep up with the Jones' should not result in us not being able to adapt or adjust our advertising because we can't get frickin' reports!
Nobody is playing Monday morning QB. We just want to be able to maintain our businesses!!

Todd is right. We should make this a bit more legitimate.

    Let's do an ABW poll!!!!

    [JUST KIDDING]

Actually if the speculators were really any good they'd be off buying lottery tickets rather than guess whos fault it is.

But, I'm sure a lot of it is really folks blowing off steam from frustration. Gonna happen.

That's the problem Todd, we don't have any facts. In the absence of facts people speculate. It's human nature.

I've been involved in projects far more complex than this. I did process/workflow for a billion dollar international manufacturing company swapping out their cobbled together legacy systems for one of the most sophisticated relational databases on the market. We weren't all born doing AM ya know!

what facts are you talking about Todd? What problems are this new upgrade trying to solve?

From what I knew, there was no problem before.

If this thing is supposed to get us to the next level, the fact is, it ain't doing what it's supposed to do.

But from the looks of it, it seems like you are getting really pressured from some dishonest merchants to hide their shenanigans. Is this the fact that you're talking about, Todd?

Nothing has been taken away (or hidden) - we have simply added additional reporting capabilities to what we already provide.

Todd, it is none of my business since I am an Affiliate Manager but did some affiliates really asked for these "sophisticated" additional reporting capabilities? You see, the problem here now is that my affiliates spend time reading this BS and complaining instead of focusing on building sites and creating campaigns.

Maybe instead of placing blame and freaking out everyone should concentrate on doing there thing rather than complaining...Eventually it will get worked out and when it does.....you would have lost all this time...

I personally think it sucks......but what can you do.

Did I ever tell you how to make your PornStar name???

LOL you guys all need to settle down....could be much worse

Nope, 10% (maybe) of your affiliates are wasting their time here complaining about anything and everything. The rest of us check in once in a while to see if there's anything interesting. All the while, working on our sites.

Please don't think that ALL of us agree, because I for one, don't. I'm not clamoring for attention because I'm busy working on my sites. Not complaining with each and every breath, like some here! There are some here that like to see their words in print, just for their own ego's.

I like the new reports, I like the changes CJ has made. And working a day job as a project manager, this upgrade went as well as could be expected. Keep up the good job CJ and thanks to Todd for taking the heat!

I'm getting the best reassurance there is. My sales since Friday have been great (by my standards).

Still, I'd appreciate more information on how things are progressing with the bug fixes and payment schedule. I'd love to see a copy of the change orders that are in process.

My biggest complaint is the wildly varying totals posted in my account. For instance, my total commision level (posted at the top of the page) was up over $400 when the system came back online over what it was before it went down. The next morning, it was only $80 up (had gone down over $300). Then it kept going up and down for the next few days. Also, while this was happening, the amount at the top of the page and the amount on the report pages didn't correspond.

Now they correspond and it seems that the total has stabilized. Unfortunately, it's still not as high as it was right after the upgrade was completed.

Also, how can we tell the amount of our next check? Where is that info?

    Michael

    Right!

and since we didn't ask for changes, i'm really curious as to what the "facts" are that Todd mentioned, which CJ is reacting to (the reason for the upgrade).
