LinkShare Announces Enhanced Payment Solution for All Network Affiliate Clients
Enhancements Include Consolidation, More Frequent Payments, and Direct Deposit

NEW YORK, Aug. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- LinkShare Corporation, a leader in
performance-based marketing solutions, has released several enhancements to
its payment solution for LinkShare affiliate clients.

LinkShare's enhanced payment solution provides a variety of benefits to
    LinkShare affiliates, including:

    - The ability to receive a single check from revenues that may be earned
    from partnerships with multiple merchants.

    - Consolidation of commission earnings towards the Network-wide payment
threshold requirement that has been lowered to one dollar.

    - The option to receive payment by direct deposit, facilitated via the
Automated Clearing House Network, or ACH.

    - Accelerated affiliate payments from once a month to bimonthly payments
so that affiliates may more quickly be issued the commissions they've
    earned.

"Affiliates are an extremely important part of the LinkShare Network,"
says Heidi S. Messer, President and C.O.O. of LinkShare Corporation. "These
enhancements will ensure that more dollars are paid out to LinkShare
affiliates, more often, and with more payment options."

Not quite as not all merchants have agreed to consildated payments.

More dollars to LS affiliates? Aren't these the same amount of dollars we were paid before? I'm not sure I follow that one.

Accelerated affiliate payments from once a month to bimonthly payments so that affiliates may more quickly be issued the commissions they've earned.
You know, it would have been a perfectly accurate and positive press release if they would have left this part out. There's nothing accelerated about it. Consolidation has the opposite effect. In order to consolidate, they have to sit on our money until it's time for a consolidated payment.

Before, they typically payed 5-10 days after the merchant paid. With consolidated payments, they pay 5-25 days after the merchant pays. For instance, Blue Nile payed (presumably) for June commissions around August 1 and it shows cleared on August 5, just missing the August 3rd cutoff. Under the old system, checks would have gone out sometime between August 5 and August 10. With consolidated payments, payment won't go out until about August 25. True, this is pretty much the worst case scenario, but for LinkShare to say that payments are "accelerated" and that they will be issued "more quickly" is just a flat out lie.

It's almost like a manufacturer saying "New and Improved". It can't be "New and Improved". It's either "New" or it's "Improved", but not both.

I think she's talking about the amounts that were below the old minimum for payment.

Poorly worded at best. Especially when you consider how many press releases LS sends out.

I missed the accelerated payment flaw in her message. I did remember my six week delay in getting my check but that was a one time thing (I HOPE) so I did not bring it up again.

Okay, so Heidi got one thing right:

    - The option to receive payment by direct deposit, facilitated via the
Automated Clearing House Network, or ACH.
Errrr, ummmmm, has anyone actually received a direct deposit yet where as we can validate that this really was a success?

Ron, perfect timing with your direct deposit question. We generated the second August payment batch today. Checks will hit the mail next week. Within that batch, there are also a number of direct deposit payments. There were no ACH payments in the first August payment batch.

That is good news. Hope it all works okay.

For me, though, I'm not signing up for that service for all the reasons I've listed elsewhere. It is nice that this is one thing LS does not REQUIRE us to do for a change.

Yahoo! I should be one of those direct deposits.

Is there some reason that you're not keeping with the 8th/22nd schedule? Any merchants rushing their payment in an attempt to hit the deadline are going to end up being delayed a couple weeks.

We generated this particular batch 1 business day early because we wanted to ensure enough time to review the ACH payments (first batch that includes ACH payments) and address any possible issues without delaying payments. Luckily there were no issues so it was just an extra precaution. While we try to stick as close to the 8th and 22nd as possible, it won't always be exact especially if they fall on a weekend.
