Reminds me of the Yahoo slider tool for commercial versus content sites. Would be curious to see how this impacts sales related sites. Maybe it'll help improve conversions since content seekers will be sent elsewhere. I'd like to see what comes of this in the future.

My first response was that returning 'Comcast On Demand' for 'on demand' was probably a pretty good response to the query.

    I went looking for more. . . .

So far, I found this one: Searching 'online' returns ... Yahoo Games Online and two other game sites. 'Online games' seem to me to be quite a stretch from the original search query 'online'.

Going to look for more . . .

Searching 'on fire' yields a highlight box for song lyrics.

A search for 'downtown' highlights Grantham. Grantham? WTF?

Those are some really weird searches! "Online" or "on demand," what would motivate anyone to search for that??

Was this a reading test Trust? The article seems to indicate that they're really NOT commercial results...

A Google spokesperson assured ClickZ News the results are not paid listings, saying the demarcated results are a search relevancy experiment.

Kevin Lee, executive chairman and co-founder of Did-It, says the results don't appear to be paid listing to expert eyes. He notes both the cache and the live page both show page titles consistent with the Google's representation of organic results. He also notes the URL formations looked like organic redirects.
