    Christian Gift Shop
Hi everyone, I am wanting to get some advice on the development of a new website. I am opening up an online version of a Christian Giftstore and plan on using shareasale. I just am curious to know if this would be something that you would promote. We plan on being very fair to affiliates, sharing half of our margins (which is 20%) and updating regularly. Would just like to know what we can do going in to it to make it nice for everyone. Thanks for any suggestions!

I am not an affiliate. I am a merchant. Just clarifying it for the affiliates... Good luck, John!

All depends what you're offering - variety, quality, etc. We have a few spots that could make use of such a program if the offerings are strong.

When we're done, would it be inappropiate to post the link on here to our affiliate program?

There's plenty of room for another Christian Gifts affiliate program. While many other areas are highly saturated, there are barely half a dozen good programs that specialize in this niche right now.

    Hi John,

I'd consider joining but only if you use SAS's auto-deposit program. I've had it with offline merchants. I suspect many other affiliates have too.

    Good luck.

what the others have said and you have to offer a datafeed... go the the datafeed forum and look around there are several threads where we affiliates have discussed what we want in a feed...

as a reminder to all merchants... with a ShareaSale you need to break your feed down into categories and subcategories by using cols custom1-custom5 (more is better) if you fail to do this your feed will be useless and you will be doomed to failure because you wont attract the heavy hitter (super affiliates) who use only datafeeds!

    Hi John,

I find that more than half my visitors are Christian. They seem to have flocked to the Internet en masse. ;-) I think you will do very well snf encourage you to go for it. SAS is a wonderful ntwork and I dito what TM said above: use auto deposit. :-)

    Good luck!

I will join. I have a site for baptism gifts and it does quite well especially gifts for the godparents. I agree with the auto deposit request. Shows your affiliates you are serious about your program.
I have zero knowledge of data feeds so for the ones like me....please put your site in the Make a Page feature.

    Good Luck!

Welcome John and best of luck to you!

I think your idea sounds great. This forum is definitely the place to tune in and listen to what affiliates want ... which is the name of the game!

I just finished a DVD project for the same marketspace. I agree with your approach of sharing margins 50:50. Our DVDs are a "Buy one, get two more free to give as gifts" promotion and are still split 50:50, with the free ones coming out of our half.
    Think Win-Win!

Also: Thanks to Joe -- Great advice!
