August 23rd, 2005, 03:43 AM #1Is anyone here selling Land On The Moon?
This is not a joke.
I was searching for Old Affiliate Programs on the net, and I found this site from 2002 that is selling land on the Moon.
You Can Buy Land On The Moon!
That's right! Now for a limited time you can buy land on the Moon! There are over 1,125,000 lunar land owners from 176 countries around the world. To date more than 300 million acres have been issued to people from all walks of life here on planet Earth."
We started our affiliate program back in November of 2002. We were the first affiliate program authorized by the Lunar Embassy to sell Lunar Property.
The amazing part is customers usually purchase more than one Acre at a time! It is really common to see purchases of 2 - 10 acres or more!
I now about selling the stars, but this one is the first time I see it.
Hey, what's next, Mars?

I raked in a fortune when Richard Branson bought up every moon plot through one of my affiliate links. He's going to put a Virgin banner up there with letters that are each 4 miles high.

The funniest thing is they have a PR 6 page, and are listed in the Google directory - that's gold! How can I get rich selling people useless paper????
P.S. - I'm going to sign up and put it under Unique Gifts...I'll let everyone know how it does over the next couple months. I'm sorry, but something this stupid has to be tested.... I expect it to flop, but you never know! Some people are really gullible...

I would stay away from this.
I did a little research on it and found a couple articles about this hoax:
"The bottom line is, he (refering to Dennis Hope - the originator of this scam) cant own property on the moon unless hes got a government to back him up. No one is claiming sovereignty rights on the moon. And if any government did, Id be very skeptical that any other government would recognize that claim."
and from a CNN article

Yeah...come to think of it, I would feel bad selling this to gullible people. They can't help it if they're judgement impaired...
Just saw Jorge's post... LOL!!

Maybe you should try selling that on eBay, it might get picked up by the news agencies, hehe... and of course, you'd need to have a link somewhere's to a site of yours....Following everyone else is a GREAT way to become average.

With the great Moonscape land rush getting traction ... I'll opt to sell of time share condos and resort property, like where the astronaut hit the golf balls. That's now officially resort and country club property on a first come & served basis. (lawn care and pool cleaning is thrown in)Webmaster's... Mike and Charlie

My brother actually bought his wife a star-name for Christmas one year.
Hmmm, doesn't say much about my genes.
I guess I should state that I'm the smart one.
