    Talking A Little CJ Trivia.
    When we go to: https://members.cj.com/member/foundation/login.jsp

    We have these options:

    Client Login:
    CJ Account Manager
    Email:
    Password:

    BFAST Partner Gateway:
    Username:
    Password:

Since I am from another Planet and I don't speak English, I used my (WordWeb - English dictionary, thesaurus and word finder) in order to find out what's the difference betwen a Partner and a Client, and this is what it say's:

    Partner:
    1. A person's partner in marriage.
    2. An associate who works with others toward a common goal.

    Client:
    1. A person who seeks the advice of a lawyer.
    2. Someone who pays for goods or services.
    3. (computer science) any computer that is hooked up to a computer network.

So this is what I think now!

When I am on BFAST, I am a Partner!
When I am on CJ, I am a Client!

Me r confius, you CJ'ans r strange people.

I always thought that we were Partners, now I am not too sure!

    Hi Sal,

It does get very confusing doesn't it!
In affiliate marketing there are so many different terms and every network seems to use them differently.

If I understand right, you are an affiliate (or publisher as they are mostly called on CJ) and are wondering where to log-in ? It depends where you have registered, but generally Client Login is where you login as an affiliate as well as merchant (or advertiser ). The BFAST Partner Gateway, as far as I know is a more specialized program - a private label solution.

Why you are called a client in one and a partner in the other - beats me... but some things are better left unthought of I guess.

    Hope that was helpful

    Petra

    Oh Petra
    You just made me laugh!!
On to the real issue, just observe carefully and you'll realise that CJ account manager and Bfast partner gateway are both sub-heads of the 'client login'.
So that makes us clients for Bfast as well. And maybe the partners in question are the CJ and Bfast teams.

Yes...it is a case of "good writing" disease.

You can go to the cj "account manager" or the bfast "partner gateway".
We wouldn't want to use the same words near each other now would we?

My favorite example of this is when newspapers report snow as "white stuff" when in need of a second term for the frozen precipitation.

Overnight we received 6 inches of snow. Here you see 2 local youths playing in the white stuff.

Yep they are just white stuffing away. Maybe they will build a white stuff man later...

Quite simply, this is what each individual platform was called before CJ and BeFree merged a year and a half ago.

Mr. Sal is, of course, being facetious.

funny: the eskimos have many many words for the white stuff, but had no weatherman to talk about it on TV (back then)

Oh you can try to un-obfuscate with your simple trickery sjangro ...if that is your real name. Over-rewriting the names without rewriting, merging without merging, updating without updating...I've connected the dots and they all link to one simple fact. A merchant account manager by any other name would smell as... well I'll let you fill in the blank.

Yours truly, without a drop of facetiousness.
