Sheesh. Did it do anything with LS or SAS cookies or any other network cookies you had?

Haiko, ZA is both automatically scanning and deleting? I know it's identified Network cookies but I've had that part of ZA turned off.

I just learned that it's part of the built in "Spyware" scan...

Thanks. I've not updated my ZA in awhile now. I don't even have the spyware scan on my version. I was thinking of the blocking they did through the "Privacy" part of the software. But even that in the past had to be turned on. But again, it's been a good while since I did anything with my ZA.

Zone Labs Update is gonna eat affiliate profits...
We in this forum are likely smart enough to turn off the automatic "Scan for Tracking Cookies" in ZA (Zone Alarm Firewall), now that we know that it is AUTOMATICALLY checked in the ZA update. Saw it myself last week when the update occurred. Thanks for pointing it out in the forum, Haiko. I was shocked the first time I saw it occur. I thought I was in control of my PC!!

This could be a big problem for our customers who get their ZA update and the automatic setting is INSIDE and PRESET scan and delete cookies from Commission Junction, Bfast, Linkshare, SAS etc. NOT to mention all the individual important cookies for our businesses. Cookie tracking time will mean nothing whether the 30 days or the very fair NEVER EXPIRES from several of our advertisers.

The same ZA program update caused my Netscape Mail 7.2 to be unusable for incoming mail for over a week until I found some time and figured out that it somehow had funked up the way Norton Antivirus checked incoming mail and did not allow any email downloading to our workhorse PC. Had to turn off Norton Antivirus incoming mail checking but left ZA incoming mail checking on. There was NO ERROR MESSAGE given; it just stopped over and over. Netscape Mail 7.2 would recognize how many messages were on Webmail, but would not allow any to download.

Thanks again, Haiko Anybody have ideas how to help this potential doom setting? Does anybody in the real world have any influence over Zone Labs choice of default settings?

It does delete LS cookies too. Not sure about SAS.

It's been going on since at least the 3rd of August

The default setting is to do the scan on a schedule and the user just clicks a button to delete everything. It does mine weekly so I assume that's the default for everyone.

I'll surely like it when Microsofts OneCare package is finally released so I can stop pushing Zonealwarm, SpyBot & Ad-aware of folks. Right now only safe bets is XP with MS Anti-Virus or XP with CounterSpy.
