    Referral URLs
    Hi Folks,

I would like to just check something.

I've new around here and have been reading all this terrific information in these forums, but I have not come across the answer to my question.

What is the correct Referral Address in Sharesale for a 2nd tier affiliate to sign up?

    Is it http://www.shareasale.com/shareasale...ID=XXXX&U=XXXX

    Thanks

    Tom

Thanks Neil, hopefully you are right.

I've tried to find it on Sharesale under Get Links/ Banners / Referral URLs but I can't find what I'm looking for.

I am an affiliate of a few programs that offer a 2nd tier. What I am trying to find out is the correct link address so someone can sign up for the affiliate program but it would be in my 2nd tier.

i think if they clear the cookies on there p.c
then click on your affiliate link for that program.
then go to shareasale and join that program
it should put them under you... i think ....
    not 100% though.
can anyone add to this. ?

    Neil,

I don't mean to be critical, but if you don't understand what someone is asking, don't have many technical skills, and don't know the answer, maybe it would be best to just let others respond? You really don't have to respond to every message you read. I know you're just trying to be friendly and helpful, but it's not all that helpful.

No, I don't know how SAS's two-tier program works either. I suspect that any normal link will work, but I don't know for sure. Brian will be the best help, or perhaps some SAS merchants who run a two-tier program.

Tom, have you tried the "Get Links/ Banners / Referral URLs" link in your affiliate account? It might have it...

Yes, that was the first place I looked, I can see links for all sort of things but I can't see a link specifically for what I'm asking about.

All the links I can see have shareasale.com (ie http://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?B=XXXXX&U=XXXXXX&M=XXXX) in them but either go to a category, product or the home page of the merchant

Now I have tried to find out too for some time, no answer from nobody... Very strange.

    The issue is this:

If you wanted to refer someone to the respective affiliate signup info like:

    http://www.shareasale.com/shareasale...erchantID=6564

...there is no way for SAS to link this up with your affiliate ID. The page above is perfect for having the merchant affiliate program info and the shareasale join info merged in one page. Perfect for recruiting a downline to that program. Works with any mercht in SAS, just there is no way of including your affiliate ID or is there. And if so would SAS pick you up as an affiliate top line of the pack once you start building tiers?

On the other hand many links are provided that do NOT lead to the merchants affiliate programs but, naturally to their offering. Now, someone clicking there will be linked to me but I do not want to send them to the offering but to the merchants affiliate program join page.

How do I do that and get credited for the downline?

    Possible link formats:

    1. When I want to recruit new signups for ShareASale.com, what link do I use in order to get all the commission stemming from this affiliate in lower tires?

    http://www.shareasale.com/shareasale.cfm?merchantID=MM
    or...
    http://www.shareasale.com/shareasal...D=MM&SID=UUUUUU
    ???
    or... any other link code?

    2. When recruiting second tier affiliates, what is the link format to be commissioned on their future sales?

    http://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?B=BBBBB&U=UUUUUU&M=MMMM
...which is my affiliate link but I wanted to send recruiters directly to their affiliate page at...
    http://www.shareasale.com/shareasal...merchantID=MMMM
...but does the signup link count as recruitment link???
Or do I need to use this:
    http://www.shareasale.com/shareasal...MMMM&SID=UUUUUU

    Thanks bunches.

Exactly the same question I have - hope this one gets answered as well!

Geno - I notice that RussianLegacy also has an 'affiliate referral program', therefore I would like to have 'new affiliates' sign up underneath me, so ...

    1. Do I simply place the normal banner/code and suggest to user to sign up?

    2. Is it possible to place an affiliate link to the affiliate sign up page?

I'm a bit confused on this one and have searched through SAS, no luck though.

    Thanks

sorry to double post, but to add to the post above,

(Geno, hope you do not mind me using your link)

Say, I wanted to direct traffic directly to the Russian Legacy affiliate program page:

    http://www.russianlegacy.com/support...te_program.htm

Is there an affiliate link for this, or should users go through a normal banner or text link?

Generate a simple text link for your merchant add the urllink value with the merchant ID, example:

    "urllink=www.shareasale.com/shareasale.cfm?merchantID=XXXX"

    Good luck, juggler.

I believe some merchants offer specific links for affiliate referrals. If you go through the list of links and banners for a merchant, one will be a referral link as specified by the text and/or banner. Maybe not all merchants have a pre-created referral link but I think some do.
