what's data feeds and how to use them?

and what does ftp access means? who's ftp? access to what? to who?
Can anyone explain all of this to me?

Flip, this question is asked just about every week here. Do a search and you'll find enough posts to keep you busy reading for days.
I won't rehash all the details here but I'll tell you this: A datafeed is a text file of product information from a merchant. This is usually imported into a database and used on the website. FTP isn't a who but a what, it's "file transfer protocol". If you have a website, you likely use FTP to upload your pages. Now, go search and read for a few days
