I think I need to clarify.....I dont wanna make commission on this.....I just remember todd saying that they joined CJ with creative to add to your sites for donations....

Thats all I wanna do is let my visitors donate money....not make money!

Please dont misunderstand.....I just remember seeing a donation program and I wanna do a huge campaign to help them get donations.....for free of course....I am even thinking of matching whatever comes in corporately.

    Just to clarify

I don't have any plans to delete this one. The ones I've deleted are the ones where you're talking about porn and "adult doll" sites. If you want to talk about that stuff, find an adult message board. If you want to talk about affiliate marketing, you're in the right place. Let's just keep it clean and we won't have any problems.

It is up now - sorry it took some time to modify the old program and get permission from the Red Cross to take it live again.

The banner links are not all working. Todd, please fix. Only the 468x60's appear to be working the other banner links are coming up with errors.

the links go to a convio.net domain and not to redcross.org.

sorry CJ, but my visitors are smart - they will not fall for that.

before they accuse me of phishing, i might as well link to the real thing - redcross.org, bypassing CJ.

We are working with them to use their redcross.org domain. They wanted to use their partner so they could determine the overall contribution our affiliates end up driving. They are East Coast, so we won't know more until next week.

They took the weekend off? Amazing.

All, using CJ's links isn't any more helpful than just getting the banners from the Red Cross' site because Smart Zones still aren't working.

Sounds like CJBS to me. As if 'how much and from whom' means anything at all.

All that matters is that they get as much as possible.

The problem right now seems to be that when you try to donate through the Red Cross, their site is having difficulties. I tried to donate and got an ASP error page...tried again and the same thing. This is not good. It's a great country that we live in with a hell of a lot of tech-savvy individuals and companies that could and would be making a difference ...but, it seems that we are not completely prepared to handle our own disasters as well as we are apparently prepared to handle the misadventures of a few 3rd world countries like Iraq, Iran, Korea, Afganistan, etc.

George W. said that we are NOT getting this thing done like it should be done.. and he's right, for once. Perhaps we are focusing our energies in the wrong direction. Ya think? Take care of our own shit and then worry about other peoples shit.

The Mayor of New Orleans is screaming bloody murder and I completely respect him for that. That's exactly what he has on his hands right now. Like many other Americans right now, I feel somewhat handcuffed. They won't let you go down there and help unless you have a specific skill and apparently there are also roadblocks to getting the financial resources that we need as well. Simply unacceptable, as George W. says... but what are we doing about it?

Well we are calling in the National Guard and we are calling in the active duty personel and we are declaring a state of emergency and allocating billions of dollars in funds. But, we were definately not entirely prepared for this.. and this is obvious. This tragedy is a perfect example of how we are NOT taking care of our own.

i think the emergency preparedness organizations (government and otherwise) were not prepared at all because instead of planning, they just hoped that an emergency this magnitude wouldn't come.

it is also pathetic to see people go hungry and cold because they have to wait in line for their turn. the U.S. has the capability to drop small packets of food, water and clothing from the air and if i remember right (from some earlier tv news article), they have already been doing this for psy ops in other countries. let's feed and cloth people first (no matter how chaotic), then come to some organization doing it, and then just clean up afterwards.

the red cross, of all organizations should be prepared that their site can be overwhelmed. i am not against using multiple domains/partners per se, but the red cross should officially recognize (and link to) these domains on their front page, so people will not be scammed by others who want to exploit the situation.
