Gas - How Much You Paying
I'm just curious as to what people are paying for gas right now around the country and world. I know a lot of you from other country's pay a lot more. I just went and got some and around here it's $3.19 - $3.29 a gallon. I think an increase of about 30 - 40 cents in the last couple of days.

Here on the west coast of Florida, there seem to be a lot of gas stations that don't have anything to sell! I had to get gas for the lawn mower today and I passed 12 stations with closed pumps before I found some for $3.09, but they were going to run out at any time.

I filled up all our vehicles on Monday for $2.48 a gallon. The cheapest I saw today was $2.94.

If gasoline futures on the NYMEX is a valid indication, it'll slowly start heading back down shortly and should be back down to last week's levels within a month.

Last Friday I filled my car with $2.38 in OKC. Yesterday the cheapest I could find was $2.97 a gallon - I didn't fill it - just put $20 worth in.

Am really wishing I had a mini cooper right now.

I went out again this evening and we still have shortages...lots of stations with no gas to sell. I'm guessing that shipping in the Gulf of Mexico was disrupted pretty good.

All gas stations in my vincity have been out since Thursday. Going rate is 3.15. I'm down to 4 gallons. Hubbie drove to Ohio from Georgia Fill up was 90 bucks, but that got him there before he had to fill up again.

I work at home so I fill my car up once, every other month. I used to fill up about once a month, but after we were hit by three hurricanes last year, I like being home more than anywhere else.

Fortunately, I filled up last Saturday at $2.89/gallon. Hopefully, in two months, it won't still be over $3/gallon.

I am in Northern VA , today at the pumps an average of $3.19 for regular, but I did see one as low as $3.10. I paid $2.49 a week ago per gallon to fill up my gas hog Landcruiser.

$3.25 here in Rochester, NY. Up from 2.58 Wednesday. They are predicting 20-30 cents more hike over the weekend and some stations are starting to run out...

In Maryland, it was 2.62 late last week, 2.72 on Monday and 3.09 today (it was 3.19 near the interstate). There were lines today that had me remembering (as a kid) waiting in the lines for gas in the 70's. I distinctly remember a sign saying it 49 cents a gallon.

Some idiot started a rumor in our area about the state closing gas stations at 4 p.m., causing a rush to get gas, which caused some area stations to run out.

I think things will be better next week. Only 10% of the nation's refinery capacity was affected, and they're working to get that back online. There was a lot of speculation driving up prices and a lot of people topping off and stockpiling out of fear of outages. I think there will still be scattered outages and gouging, but I think the worst is over. Prices should start to ease, IMHO.
