I wonder what kind of effect this would have on the Affiliate Industry as a whole... (affiliate sites being sold... affiliate networks being sold ... hundreds of millions of $$$, even Billions now...)

I wonder if this will cause a sudden be a surge of affiliate-site sales (hmm... $$$)
or perhaps A boom in new affiliate marketers (damn, more competition)?

I doubt this will have much of an effect. Shopping.com and Shopzilla.com both sold for over half a billion and they both started as affiliate sites. You reach a point where you no longer fit the bill as an "affiliate" and you become more. This is really what we should all be striving to achieve.

Well, poker and gambling are areas that a lot of us stay away from. It's a hard category to rank in.

I would hope that it wouldn't cause every money grubber in the world to jump on board, but you never know. As long as they all stay on poker, I don't really care...

the next "internet gold rush" is upon us...

many of us are going to be offered lot's of cash, not because of our expertise but because we are sitting on domain names that are being under utilized..

what most of us lack, is the money to build hire programmers and designers to build killer money making machines.. so we putter around doing the best we can, some of us even support ourselves with our activities...

I for one know, if i had a venture capital investor I could afford to hire a staff which would lighten my load...

I could then devote my time to growing my online business. I could grow it 100 fold in a very short time..

btw.... my network of 125 websites is forsale.. the bidding starts at $3 billion
    and yes, I accept Paypal...

10% discount for CASH in stacks of 20's please, just load the money in my new hummer and I'll tell ya where to deliver it... !

Empire Online beat that 1/2 billion by more than double--and they're just a white-label site according to this article!

Would you accept $2.8 billion? I would offer more, but that's all that has come into our PayPal account this week.

Damn. Sorry, but the funds have been diverted into other projects. Watch out for Freelanceworkexchange Earth and Freelanceworkexchange Talk, coming soon. Then we have start an expensive lawsuit against Microsoft.
