    Yahoo update
Well looks like Yahoo's following Google - update happening...or that's what's being suggested in wmw...

Wow...both in flux and my traffic's taken a big hit...hope after the dust settles I'll rise up from the ashes intact...

I think this has a long way to go. site:mysite.com is showing old pages or pages that never existed, searches returning a tiny fraction of the results they should...

I thought the definition of 'update' WAS devastation. )

Most of my pages are gone. My father-in-laws pages are gone.

Unless this is temporary, it's the end of the road for me .

Yep. me too. My main site has four pages listed in the index compared to 240 before, and one of those is NOT my index page. I was just starting to get some traffic from Yahoo. Of course, I fall into the "thin affiliate" category. Yahoo is probably thinning some of us out!

The web is no longer a frontier to be explored by us common folk. It is now a piece of real estate owned and dominated by big companies.

I still haven't noticed any Yahoo-Related changes (traffic or ranking) on any of my sites. Not yet at least. Remaining steady so far. Although about 2 weeks ago I noticed some small position changes (one site went from #2 to #6) but it's since moved back to #2.

Not really seeing any substantial changes here. One site had an increase in Yahoo traffic which is nice, but that's about the only thing I'm noticing so far. It wasn't a sharp increase, but something none-the-less. Hope to see some more positive changes.

Mine too. I might have even gained some ground

Remind me to never look at a SE in the middle of an update again. Too stressful.

What the hell, i seem some weird stuff with my urls for my main they have listed:

Lower case when it's uppper case - My titles
Sometimes my url is showing up as the title
Not the whole url showing : http://mysite.com/whatever is showing as http://mysite.com/wha
and then non existent, crazy urls with endings like 22.383838 and BR-18-2282

    My others look fine.

My original, home-page-only results are back. Woop-de-doo.

I don't think it's that. They don't like GoodBulbs, either, and that's neither thin nor an affiliate!

Wow, I just had a very dramatic increase in Yahoo traffic today. This is just for one particular site that's been up and down in Yahoo all year long. I hope this sticks!

Yahoo has a new tool for webmasters! It shows what pages they have indexed and what backlinks you have pointing to your site. Nice!

Axandra (makers of Arelis and IBP seo software) showed me the story from their latest newsletter: http://www.free-seo-news.com/newsletter180.htm#senews

    Axandra said:
Yahoo's Site Explorer shows all subpages within a URL indexed by Yahoo. You can also see subpages under a path and inlinks indexed by Yahoo! to a URL. You can also submit missing URLs to Yahoo.

The story from yahoo, about the new Yahoo! SiteExplorer search tool is here:
    http://www.ysearchblog.com/archives/000191.html

    And the tool is here:

Ahaaaaa... Interesting. Seems they DO have all my GoodBulbs pages in there, but are choosing not to show them, or at least not in any findable locations.

Me too Sonja - didn't realize I had that many pages in my site! Also see that I have more than 7500 back links. Gee, this is cool.

Thank you Donuts! Made my morning bright.

    Are we related? hehe

It just confirmed for me what I already knew, over 90,000 backlinks, only 1 page indexed.

Kripes no wonder I'm not making what I "think" I should be making. I thought more than 7500 back links was doing good. Doh
