I am seeing the strangest fluctuations in my sales the last few days. Normal day...bad day...normal day...bad day. Cicks and impressions are unchanged. Very interesting.

Sales volume is very weird the past few days. It's almost like some sales aren't making it through until the next day and some still aren't posting that should've...

Whoever pulled out that plug, please put it in again. Stop fooling around. We have families to feed.

    Seeing the same pattern Ron....

    09-29-2005 $80.95
    09-28-2005 $275.43
    09-27-2005 $77.80
    09-26-2005 $216.86
    09-25-2005 $53.77

It's every other day, except this last weekend it was for 2 days. ]

    Rhea,

Are you saying that you switched some links so that they would go to a different CJ server and then you started having sales come in?

To me it does seem like it might depend on which server your links are going through.

No, Kevin I was being facetious. I was suggesting that CJ lets transactions through for publishers on one server one day, and the other server the next day. If Todd can keep repeating that "tracking is not affected" then I see no reason why I can't keep repeating that "servers are being switched." Both answers are ridiculous.

I think they have bottleneck issues. Either they're holding transactions to test them, or groom them, or who knows what, *or* they don't have sufficient server resources to post transactions in real time. They might appear to be posted in real time but I don't think they are.

I think tracking isn't affected. What I think is that the time it takes for the click to go through the CJ server and redirect to the merchant is being affected. If the visitor got through, the sale would be tracked fine, but sales are down because the potential visitor is getting fed up with the time it takes for the link to resolve and leaving. But that is just my theory. That would explain why some people are getting sales and others are not and why one day might be good while othrs are not. And why clicks are the same but sales are down. It could very well be happening on a revolving server basis (or agent group). Todd said that they did a hardware upgrade to help the new system. It could be that even that upgrade did not help the new system enough.

    Kevin,

I just had a site reindexed so I'm going from next to no traffic to some and my CLICK data is following the same pattern...I just double checked that my off days matched yours and they do ;-(

5 days in a row climbing steady with an on off on off pattern

    Post Date:

    29-Sep-2005 14:06 PDT - 29-Sep-2005 19:00 PDT

    A low sales day yesterday!

This "theory" gets my vote as well. Makes the most sense IMO

Someone definitely pulled the plug on eBay. I've only had ONE bid go through in the last two days! Impressions and click throughs are normal. This following a considerable drop off in eBay activity over the last month plus.

Also, the "undefined" error message being generated in my error logs due to some bad code with eBay's Editor Kit stopped about the time bids stopped. Coincidence? I don't think so. Something is wrong with eBay tracking.

OK, attached is a graph that compares the the past seven days to the previous week. This is a graph of tracked transactions that resulted in commissions being earned by publishers (a.k.a. views with last click). In other words, these are txns that resulted from referred clicks. As you can see the days are almost identical.

Clicking on links should not be slow or negatively impacted by the issues related to navigating the members area. The members area gets peak usage between 9 am and 5 pm PT. During this time, member area usage causes connections to the database to get maxed out which causes reports to time out or log in issues. We have ordered new hardware that will resolve this issue. Unitl then, the members area will be impacted during peak hours.

Thanks, while you're here a question that has been asked many times without an answer. Vermont Country Store. Do you know the deal with them? They were supposed to open up at CJ over a month ago and the BF program is about closed. Are they going to show up at CJ or are they now a merchant without an affiliate program? Thanks.

I just checked our Keynote reports and see no impact on ad serving or redirects.

Sorry, I do not know anything about this program. Have you tried calling their corporate offices?

? They had a CJ signup link over a month ago that went nowhere or a dead page. They are/were a BF merchant. Someone at CJ should know about them, they're a merchant on your network(s) I tried emailing the AM, no response, don't even know if the email is going to the right place.
