I can come into the city in the late afternoons. Dont think I can actually do the whole ad tech. I would love to shoot the breeze a bit over a beer.

Geez... and here I was getting ready to jump at the chance to share a table with you. Does this mean my coffee mug isn't in the mail?

Chris, You already have ... Nov 6th - remember?

I was the sucker who actually thought you wouldn't go parasitic after that night much less the meeting the next day. Man, was I wrong about that one!

Re the mug: No, I don't think so.

Sorry, Haiko. I flew into LGA that morning and headed straight to the meeting from the airport. I wasn't there the night before. I also headed back to LGA immediately following the meeting.

I've made my opinion known several times before, and so have you. You're welcome to your opinions, and even though this is your board, I believe I'm still entitled to mine, too. Honestly, some day I'd like to sit down with you for a one-on-one discussion.

No coffee mug? Bummer! I thought they were being handed out as a celebration of ABW's birthday, not as a reward for thinking like you.

Blair has so much potential to be an awesome affiliate program.
Can we set up a thread where Chris can tell us why it is that they are affiliated with every parasite in the world? Maybe there he can tell us how these parasites actually send new traffic to Blair, traffic that they would not have gotten otherwise. I would love to know how Blair sees value in parasites, since they only redirect traffic that was coming to their site from aother affiliates or from Blair's own seo and ppc efforts in the first place.
I happen to be in the middle of a huge apparel site project and I have purposely excluded Blair because of their parasitic policies. Maybe Chris can convince me otheriwse. My CJ rep was unable to.

Perhaps we can post videos of parasitic activity on Blair's web site and Chris can explain the value of this activity to Blair or the value to their other affiliates.
    Thanks for considering this request.

As for the suggested thread for Blair ... there already is at least one ...

    Hey Uncle Scooter,

Though your email deals a bit in generalities, it's still a good one. Your suggestions and questions have merit for Blair.com affiliates, and I'd be happy to discuss specifics with any Blair.com affiliate or potential affiliate who would like to contact me directly. As I've said before, I will not enter into any business discussions on ABW. I'd also be happy to discuss your apparel site project with you. My contact information is in my signature.

It isn't a "business discussion" to chat about your program's acceptable / allowable methods of promotion.

    Chris,
I looked at one of the thread links posted by Haiko above. The first thing you say is that you are not technically saavy.
How can you manage a program and not understand how parasites work? This statement says it all bud. You are apparently clueless and depend too much on the guidance of people who have indeed led you down the wrong road. Best of luck with your parasite-filled program.
I'll not be a part of it. Thanks just the same.

Your program's acceptable / allowable methods of promotion should be a matter of policy, publically known policy.

    Uncle Scooter:

I have no problem whatsoever understanding the basics of how "parasites" work. I also have no problem whatsoever understanding that there are several different types of sites included in the catch-all "parasites". What I was referring to in the thread you refer to was a problem I was having with Kellie's video.

I'd be happy to discuss this with you further, but I believe it's gone far enough here at ABW. Feel free to contact me if you wish.

Unless you are willing to pay about 3 to 4 times your posted commission rate to make up for losees to your other partners, no need for further discussion.

Though Blair.com's commission percentage is relatively high in the appparel category, I'm alway willing to discuss bumps for sites that can send large amounts of qualified traffic. Unfortunately, I would probably be talking 3-4 percentage points, not multiples.

In any case, best of luck with your project.

I expect to be at Ad:Tech -- a bit unusual for me, in that I don't often go to conferences. But there's an exception to every rule!

I'd be excited to meet up with ABW'ers. I'm always particularly pleased to talk with merchants trying to clean up their programs or to keep their programs clean.

I'll probably be in NY for the 7th and perhaps at least part of the 8th. Not sure beyond that.

ROFL @ Chris Parks spin attempts, as if you don't know what Scooter meant with the commission rise needing to be in multiples. Your spin is as effective on us, as Bush's is on Drewbert
