    From http://affiliates.ebay.com/how-affil...rks/reporting/ ...

The “Order Id” (OID) is a field that contains parameters relating to the transaction. This is only viewable by downloading the “Commission Detail” report. The OID contains the following information from left to right: eBay User Id; eBay Item Id; Leaf Category Id; Click Date; Bid Date; and Record Id. This information provides insight into the timing of various activities for the transaction and will allow you to optimize against categories.

    Here is some additinoal information:

    Registration

OID = eBay User ID; 0 (Note: the second field would typically be the item ID, but for Registrations it is zero because there is no item associated.)

    Bid/BIN/Active Registration

OID = eBay User ID; eBay Item ID (Note: the item ID for Active Registrations is identical to the item ID of the bid/BIN that resulted from the original Registration.)

    Winning Bid

OID = eBay User ID; eBay Item ID; eBay Category ID; click date; bid date; unique eBay Transaction ID

(Also, of note, the event date of the Winning Bid is the close date of that auction. Between the click, bid, and auction close date, publishers can understand the general timespan that their users take to convert. Additionally, the other information in the OID can be used against various eBay resources – including eBay’s API, http://developer.ebay.com/programs/affiliates - to gain an exact understanding of their users’ behaviors in order to optimize their online campaigns.)

    Thanks for the information.

Clarification question: My understanding is that we get revenue share for Ebay Auction wins and Ebay Auction BINs, but NOT any revenue share for Ebay Stores transactions. Is this correct?

(at least I'm not seeing any Ebay Stores purchases come through, nor have any test purchases).

The only Ebay Stores commission program I'm aware of is the $30 for opening up a new store.

    Thanks.

I'm seeing transactions for items that were listed in eBay stores.

I'm pretty sure this is a stores transaction:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=5239568428

I was paid 1 cent for referring this buyer -- so low because there was no listing fee.

    Hi Todd,

Regarding the eBay User Id in the OID, it's a numeric value and not the alphanumeric eBay ID/handle. I've used the numeric value to lookup the user information, with the GetUser API call, and it returned an error.

Can you confirm with eBay whether the numeric (only) user id is proprietary? Or is there a specific api call for it.

    Best,

    Tuan

It sure would be nice if there was a URL we could just add the numeric user id to so that we can see for sure who the bidder was.

    Hi Tracy,

If there's way to do it using the API, then i'll contribute the URL.

Most of the calls are $2.90 per thousand so I'll have to monitor the usage and (unless it's one of the free calls) may put in a daily limit.

    Hello,

I had also contacted the eBay team regarding this and was informed (this week) that:

    a) The first ; delimited value in the OID field is an internal code eBay uses.

    b) There's no existing way (external to eBay), even with the API, to convert it to the alphanumeric user id. Discussions will be initiated to address this issue.

    Tuan
