    Cool Let's All Promote Porn
I was totally shocked when I just opened the regular monthly newsletter from our local Australian Affiliate Network 'Commission MONSTER' which I normally don't read but just had a quick glance.

This newsletter is meant to be a professional newsletter that promotes merchants and the first line/paragraph (right at the very top, the first thing one reads) is this below:

    -------------------
Yet again Adultshop has some great offers for the month of October. Get FREE Sex Toys and DVDs plus WIN a Trip to Vegas. Win a 5 star trip to Vegas and tickets to the AVN Awards the Oscars of Adult Entertainment, plus spend over $80 on their massive range of Sex Toys, Adult XXX DVDs, Lingerie
    -------------------

I have nothing against sex toys and xxx videos but is this something to promote above average everyday Australian businesses ? Could you imagine CJ or LinkShare doing this?

I think this has got to be the most shocking things Ive seen in a newsletter to date, I still can't believe any business would have anything to do with this extremely unprofessional service and I know I would not want my business promoted underneath the above paragraph.

Please someone start a decent Affiliate Network for Australsia, there are over 20 million people here and billions of dollars exchanged each day and this is the best we have to integrate advertisers and publishers. lol

    Well there's :

    DGM Australia
    ClixGalore Australia
    CheckMyStats
    SiteLink

and probably some more I don't know about.
Commission Monster ain't all we got, but yeah I do agree we need a serious Network down here. I'm sure if any of the major US ones opened a head office here they'd take 100% of the market in a very short period of time (due to lack of any serious competition) and at the same time they'd grow the affiliate marketing industry here as a whole.

For any network planning to increase their market-share in the US, why not just open up an Oz base and take the whole AU market?

Hmmm...does this network have a lot of merchants that sell "adult toys"? If so, perhaps they are being pressured to promote them more.

The ad does seem somewhat out of place in a professional, business-type newsletter...

It's just a news post I made about lycos when they announced the most searched term for the past 10 years.
It was pamela anderson and in the article I just mentioned that Pam Anderson hit it big in the online world when her sex video was leaked. I also mentioned that Britney Spears was number 2. So the keyword that is getting people to my site is
    britney-spears sex tape -chortler

They do. CJ has merchants that sell all kinds of sex toys imaginable. They also have a new merchant that has pics of under 18 girls on their site posing suggestively.

I've joined every Aussie network including the ones mentioned above by Rogi but I haven't herd of wallcann so I will try them too.

Some interesting comments and although CJ & Linkshare may have porn related merchants I've never seen them promote them like this.

There is a real opportunity here for someone that knows what they are doing to dominate the Australian Affiliate Market. Most of the other Aussie affiliates I have talked to are just as disappointed in what is on offer down-under.

The main problem is that CM is the most dominate network here but they also have many problems with the service, a lot of the time their own site is down, datafeeds are hardly ever updated and the links available are limited and often full of errors.

Most of the others seem to only have a handful of merchants. We have a thriving economy which is similar to the US and I hope we see someone enter the market here soon that will offer us publishers a usable network.

[B]LS has playboy, and some adult toys from DR.Ruth.
At least playboy has a few advantages, but I am trying to continue on a family type line, with my 5 sites.I will wait and see how bad things really get, since some merchants AM really do check sites, for content.

    Hi

Yes I did that and a whole host of other searches before posting my question .

I didnt come up with anything that resembled an australian focused ABW or A4U just small sections with low membership or Aus based readership from what I could see .

So if anyone knows of a really decent sized forum focused on Aus aff marketing I would be interested to find out.

    Thanks
