My first stiff in Affiliate Marketing: PetCareRX.com
    The merchant: Petcarerx.com
    The network: Linkshare
    The commission: $28.08
The story: After short run of their affiliate program on Linkshare, petcareRX left the network, owing me and other affiliates. Linkshare and the merchant are suing each other now, for God knows why and I don't really care about. The fact is, affiliate generated sales and earned commissions. They only need to pay it.

After many failed attempts, I managed to catch the petcareRX affiliate manager on the phone who, essentially, told me that they are not paying because Linkshare is not providing them with affiliate names, addresses and amounts to pay. Then I contacted Linkshare and they told me the merchant can get the names if they want to. Their actual response was this:

"Merchants are aware of how to get access to information they need to pay
affiliates. They can feel free to contact their old account manager or the
collections department at LinkShare to get the issue situated."

Then I contacted PetcareRX again with Linkshare's response, they told me what they said before.

I, too, beliebe PetcareRX simply don't want to pay, if they did, it would not be so diffucult to get the names, addresses and amounts.

I have been in the business for years, and I will have to write this one off as the first stiff. I will give it a last chance and push petcareRX again. Of course it's not the amount that matters but the principal. I would go after it even it was a buck. So, as I 'promised' the merchant that I'd do, I am posting it here for all to know.

Thanks for the info, Woz. I won't be signing up for their program at CJ.

I hope you find a way to get the worms to pay you the money you're owed.

That is unfortunate that you had experience that Sam.

But, you can get a positive out of this. I do beleive that when poeple get burned or stiffed in life, there is a lesson in there somewhere that will be instrumental in your sucess later in life. This one cost you $28.08 of earned commissions. Have you figured out your lesson yet?

I learned a lesson when I got burned 2 years ago for $46.00 from a company that no longer exist. It cost me $46.00 to learn to never work with a company who doesn't have their S&*t together right from the start. My 1st clue should have been delayed payments, followed by an Affiliate Manager who always had to get back to me for simple questions (like, "can I use some of your customer's testimonials?")

I hope if there is a lesson in this that it helps you earn 10x the amount you lost. Thanks for posting that site.

Maybe this thread should be moved to the CJ forum - so anyone thinking of signing up there - will be warned

Actually I do need new specs, but I think I can blame this little mistake on ye olde short-term memory.

Thank you for bringing this thread from dead, Trust. I guess I'll contact the manager with this thread, once again. Hopefully there is a new one.

If a merchant wants a good affiliate program, they would have paid you. I'm glad to this thread resurfased after they just joined CJ. Affiliates can join them if they want, but let this post give them fair warning.

    PetCareRx
I just called Petcarerx and was told
All disputes between PetCareRx and LinkShare Corp
have been resolved to the satisfaction of both parties.
So I think you should recontact your linkshare Reps..

    UPDATE:

Today I received a check from Linkshare for this merchant. Not sure what exactly forced to pay up eventually, but I am glad to still have not been stiffed in affiliate marketing!

But it should not have taken three months to resolve this for all the people involved.
