    eBay for Traffic?
Has anyone here sold or listed a website/domain for sale on eBay?

What's the worst thing that happens if it doesn't sell?....You get more clicks/visits and some might turn into sales?

And has anyone sold any sites worth some good $$$ ?

    Doing some experiments. Input appreciated.

    I've bought a couple/sold a couple. All under $100.
Apparently the 'serious' domain sellers avoid ebay.
One reason might be that domain/site selling usually involves a lot of haggling.

Also most people believe (Their) site/domain is worth much more than it actually is. Not ready for the cruel reality of no bids. LOL

Traffic: Unless you list more domains for sale on the landing page, I dont think the traffic will help you.

The other problem being that 99% of the domains/sites sold on eBay are crap, and they allow non-relevant items to be listed in the domain category (web hosting etc), people list non-.com domains in the .com cateogry, and frequently the domain being sold ISN'T what's listed in the item title. So serous buyers get sick and tired of wading through the shit looking for the diamond.

On a related note, whats the best place to buy a website I wonder (developed one, not domain names for sale)? Ebay is just so broad and there are tons of cookie cutters listed. I know there IS an under utilized place on this forum as well. Any others?

Since you have a large collection of serious webmasters all around you at abestweb, you probably won't find a better place to buy or sell a website. The barter trade and sell category is just for that.

Regarding Ebay for the sake of traffice, I wouldn't bother. Firstly they do all they can to make sure you aren't going to make money from it. Secondly the buyers themselves feel the same way and lastly what good is traffic? It costs resources and has no reward. Unless you've got some extremely weird circumstance you wont benefit from ebay traffic. Also, like others hinted you probably won't get a premium price for you little jewel.
