    Any Esprit US affiliates?
They used to pay 10%. A few weeks ago they pushed across terms at 5%. They claim that they have overrun their ad budget for the year, so they have reduced commissions to 5% for Q4 and promise to return them to 10% afterward, but they just can't afford to pay more than 5% for Q4.
    My thoughts:
    1. How can you overrun your budget on a Pay Per Performance model?
    2. eBates offers 11% cash back on their program
    3. I think maybe #2 just answered #1.

    I agree with you,
How can you overrun your budget on a Pay Per Performance model?
By paying too much people bringing NO value like eβates,
    And scaring away REAL affiliates.

it is unfortunate that LS places the logo of the first merchant you signed up with on your internal start page. I signed up with them many years ago and then they dropped me before I could start converting. I've had to stare at that logo for years now; trying never to look up at that corner any more.

This is a hoot. Posts #1 & #2 above ripped me apart. Sad and hysterical at the same time!

Herb - it is unfortunate that LS places the logo of the first merchant you signed up with on your internal start page.
My first merchant was an indy, I made a ton of money with them. This company was taken over by a start up cie with an affiliate program with LinkShare, something like 1997 or 1996 and I end up with their logo. Two years later, still making a fortune with them every month, they went bankrupt. I had to fight LS, had to go to court to recover some of my money. One year later, an other company took over their assets, changed their name to that cie and are still running a program at LinkShare.
You understand my feeling each time I have to log in LS.

I was wondering why Esprit cut their commission. It's a pretty pathetic reason.

I'd be willing to accept a little less if they would eat their returns, but with their new low payout, they've been demoted on my sites. If anyone from Esprit ever asks why my number of visitors are down (which I highly doubt)... I'll let them know I'm just trying to help them reduce their ad expense...

On topic two, my first linkshare merchant was Petopia, and while they are still there in LS, I believe they have been part of PETCO for quite some time.

I'm sure that'll be a relief to them. I'll have to remember that!

I completely removed them. It'll be a cold day in hell when the word Esprit is on another of my web sites.
