    CJ booted ShopAtHomeSelect, LinkShare?

LinkShare, you should trump them back by booting SAHS and at least one other! Us affs have got holiday decisions to make!

Ok so all the hooplah about the new CJ PSA is actually turning out to be a good thing if this is the result. I think honest merchants and affilliates have nothing to worry about but the new PSA reads mostly as a way to clean up their act, such as booting SAHS. Does anyone else see it this way or am I being naive?

I don't see a direct connection between the new PSA and what just happened with SASH. The new PSA isn't even effect yet. The termination of this level of 'affiliate' does not happen overnight. Typically there have been discussions happening for a good while before the termination happens. Also there's not anything new in the PSA (ie acceptable or unacceptable behaviors) that isn't over a year old with the last revision of the COC. The language is just now in the PSA as well as the COC. We also don't know under what specific grounds SAHS was terminated, we just know they were terminated.

Thanks for the explanation Kellie. I have no clue what goes on with merchants and networks and it's good to understand the back room stuff.

At the very least this would be a good step in rebuilding favorable affiliate opinions towards linkshare, something Linkshare could use a little help with.
No wait, at the least this should be done because it's right.
The fact it would help ease affiliates anger or frustration towards Linkshare after this last year would just be a huge bonus.

I'm sure LS is going to handle this in the same manner they handle almost everything else: POORLY.

LS is always at the back of the line it seems.

The real indicator of character here will be how LinkShare handles this.

I, for one, will be watching very carefully.

How about going back a few steps here and reviewing how individual merchants handle it. Most BHOs target the domain of their merchant partners. Therefore promoting parasite free merchants protects your traffic, who would want to promote a merchant that wasn't parasite free anyway....... no one right....?

And yes SAHS ought to be on the list for LS to remove.

    Cheers

It's nice to see how LS is jumping all over this one. 4 days since this thread was posted, and not so much as a drop dead from LS.

    Typical...

Kind of like when you contact support about issues. You send the request, never hear back, and the issue never gets fixed. Wonder why they even bother to have support - they don't seem to do much except insult and irritate affilaites!

Well you can bet the LS merchant cookie stuffing redirects are being implimented at SAHS right now. Befree need to also take a stance as http://www.shopathomeselect.com/all_merchants.asp shows a ton of BF merchants like Boscov's and Tigerdirect on the cashback list.

Sorry, Ben, due to the nature of IC it might be a violation of trust for me to do so.

Haiko, can I get approval for the IC? I think the attendees from Andy's seminar will vouch for me.

This thread is not about IC entry it is about SAHS at LS.

The IC discussions and posts should be in the applicable thread in the cafe.

Stay on topic please, esecially one this DAMN important.

Sorry Haiko. I did also read that BeFree dropped SAHS. However, since in BeFree merchants own their relationships with publishers my understanding is that BeFree asked merchants to comply and drop SAHS, but they did not necessarily have to.

    Amanda,

Don't know where you read it but, yes since BF Merchants have a direct relationship with affs BF could only "ask". I think your Q would be better served in the manager's forum.

CJ booted out SAHS for noncompliance. What is Linkshare's stand on this matter?

Linkshare is no doubt raking in even more profits from illegal parasitic activity since CJ has exited the scene. It is like Christmas to them!
Meanwhile, Elliot Spitzer lurks and LS is within his jurisdiction!
