    Really weird merchant spam!
I am sitting here working on flower merchants (Yes, I am back to work) and out of the clear blue, I get an e-mail from an indy merchant that I have never heard of before who sells flowers complete with code and affiliate ID for me to put on my pages!

    What's up with this?

I have not signed up for their program. How would they even know where to send the check?

Is this coincidence? Are they somehow able to spy on me and send the e-mail at the exact moment when I am most likely to want to use their code? Am I paranoid today or what?

This is beyond any doubt the weirdest merchant spam to date.

Let's give them the benefit of the doubt.... although I would feel weird about that too.

I've had that happen in LS. They're fishing for recruits.

It may be like those phoney credit card approvals: they don't have all the data until you volunteer it.

I think there's a conspiracy, all right--but more down-to-earth than them spying on you.

If you blindly put up that code without signing up, it's free promotion for them, even with your ID in there.

So I think they're hoping for one of the Ones Born Every Minute (that is, some suckers) to do just that--just put their ad up, and then when the place doesn't pay, they'll say "well, you never actually joined our program..."

They are the same as 99flowers.com - perhaps you signed up with them a while back.

I think maybe they are with - or were with - CJ.

99flowers.com is an inhouse program. I joined them a long time ago. They may have even been promoted here. I got the growerflowers email this morning with the link code. I noticed that in the code the links pointed to 99flowers.com .
