    Hehe, boy that sounds wrong.... I'm NOT on the prowl in that way, hehe. I was 'on the prowl' for some ideas about a new site, but I decided to hold off until the site was a little more fleshed out.

    Ideas for a new site hmmmm

    I hate getting ideas and not being able to finish them because I don't have the help

    I have a dating site (cutegeek.com)
    a custom computer site (geekcubes.com)
    a comparison shop site (geekdiscounts.com)

    I get the begining of the site done but never finish

    There never used to be a difference. But the Tech Tree seems to have a drawn a line that is clearer in some peoples minds than in others...

    Nerds = Urkle

    Geeks = GQ Braniacs with little to no Acne and loaded bank accounts.

    (I can't find the thread now but...) remember once upon a time when someone here posted a paragraph/introduction to a story (oh I remember now... it was about a school assignment thingy)... anyway, the whole point was, one person writes a section, next person continues it, etc.

    That thread got pretty long around here, so even within ABW there's probably an interest for something like this:

    (has this been done?) A book site... no not selling them. I mean a site where visitors can come in, read a section of a book and then add to it, extend the story (kinda wiki) , get their names out there (perhaps they're aspiring writers) etc. When the collection of extensions finally sounds like a story and reaches an end... perhaps the users can vote on it, vote to edit it and then the webmaster has it published (e-Book? printed?)... all writers get a share of revenue (equivalent to their share of writing; in terms of words/pages/etc).

    Site makes money from affiliate sales/advertising/etc (tons of ways to monetize). Aspiring writers, journalists or anyone interested might just add a chunk of story in there and participate in the book.

    So you have a few genre's and multiple 'custom' books at once. If something like this got some good interest....... just imagine the amount of viral marketing it would create from people sharing 'their' book to their friends.
    There's a freebie for anyone with enough time on their hands to make this site.
