    Substituting parenthesis? ()
    Hi there,

I'm having a small problem with a particular feed I'm trying to work with - file names are created using book titles from my data, but some of the titles contain parenthesis () in them.

The file names for the respective generated pages are dashed where each parenthesis appeared, but I cannot seem to reference them with a replace string, as the code ")" or "(" is taken as 'close'.

    [WM-Field: Title nolink replace(")","-";":","-";" ","-";"&","-";"'","-";"","-";",","-";"","-"].shtml

Is it possible to reference it somehow without having this problem? I'd prefer not to search and replace the book data, since the parenthesis are an important part of many titles.

I should point out I'm using version - 2.3 in case the latest revision handles that differently...

Thanks for any help or suggestions!

Version 2.4.1 now allows you to escape parens which are part of the evaluation literals.

For example, you can use "\(".

Please try this out in the latest test build and let me know how it works out for you:

    OS X:

Thanks, I think that did the trick (though I'm waiting on a key for the newer version, so it's hard to tell while I'm limited to 20 records at the moment)

I'll let you know, thanks for the help.

I have no pending requests for registration codes in my In Box. If your reg code was obtained after April 1 2003 you can just use that; if earlier, please email it to me so I can generate a new one for you.
