    Need to make text file
Is there any way for a simple minded person to make a text file listing all the file names in a directory?

I have thousands of images in a file and I need a fast way to make a text file listing all the image names. Is there some way to do it in a batch instead of having to cut and paste each image name into the file?

Please, don't use scarry words like DOS!

Thanks in advance for any help with this.

If you use WS_FTP click on the dirInfo tab

You can also open your ftp progam try right clicking on it then click on Operations then click on Directory Info

You can do this with WS-FTP (if you use it to FTP files):

    1. Open WS-FTP and change the local system box (upper left hand corner on my computer) to the directory on your computer that has the images.
    2. Click the DirInfo button and you will get a text file with the filenames, the modified date of the file, and the size of the file.
    3. Copy all of this information and open up Excel
    4. Paste the information into excel
    5. Select Column A in Excel
    6. Perform a Text to Column Function on Column A with the delimter set to SPACE
    7. Delete
    8. Copy Column A in Excel
    9. Open up your text program (wordpad, textpad, word, etc)
    10. Perform a Paste Special function as Unformatted Text (If Paste Special isn't available, just paste the info into the file)
    11. Save the file
