    Strangest item ordered?
    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0008GCUMM/

    (Latex Gloves)

I wonder if I shouldn't try expanding one of my sites into hospital supplies...

TV cooking geek Alton Brown is always advocating using latex gloves when handling meat and some other tasks that get kinda messy and/or have cross-contamination issues.

Absolutely. Used latex gloves daily when used to work in a kitchen through college. Kept the area cleaner, re-assured our customers about food conditions, and allowed me to actually eat the food myself after seeing some of the clientele who get hired in these places. Good kitchen supply site choice!

Had one surfer click through looking for end of world novels, and they bought a rock polisher. Nothing really strange sold, though, that I can think of off hand.

I was going through the contents of some Overstock orders a few weeks back and in there was a "Chef Buddy". I'm like "what the heck is a chef buddy?", so I looked and it's some decorative thing that looks like a chef and holds wine and utensils for you. I showed my wife this thing saying "isn't that rediculous?!" and she says "aw, that's cute! I want one!".

I use disposable latex gloves when patching roof leaks with roof-patching tar-like stuff. They work great for that. When I'm done, I pull off the gloves and I'm done. Otherwise I have to use lacquer-thinner to get the stuff off of my hands.

Latex gloves (especially the thin surgical type) are also good for use with hair dye and strong hair chemicals.

As for a strange item ordered, I don't recall any strange ones, but, like Elbow, I have had people click through on one product and end up buying something totally unrelated.

it's between the 56-pack of maxipads (just unexpected, i guess) and an aftermarket camera you can install on your car so you can view behind you (presumably while you back up). But the combo order that really takes the cake is comprised of "Improvised Munitions Handbook", "Explosives and Demolitions Fm 5-25", "Do-It-Yourself Gunpowder Cookbook" (tempted to keep that IP on record), and last but not least "The Chemistry of Powder and Explosives". Don't ask me how they got there -- I surely do not advertise them -- somebody picked them up with a... Euro-Pro 7500XH Craft N'Sew. ooook.

I know a site where you can find all those things without having to jump around between pages. You can get a kayak and a computer and a Seiko watch as well, all in one shot.

After considering the above and one of my site's audiences, this makes complete sense.

In fact, I am throwing away money by not linking to the item!
