    Google paying for firefox installs
So the Big G has updated their Adsense service and now its paying publishers for referrals. Interestingly Google is paying $1 for each Firefox download with the Google Toolbar installed.

Recently firefox topped 11% share in the browser world. This will help it scale higher numbers & take more chunks out of microsoft's dominance.

    cheers!

    Very true, womanht.

And for affiliates, the increase in Firefox's share means we should test our sites not just in IE but firefox aswell.

Sadly I think the Firefox thing is for the US only, but there's also the *Adsense* referral program which offers $100 of the Adsenser earns $100. Neat.

I'm thinking of pushing this....actually, our sites always look better in Firefox, though we test in both. IE has too many limitations on what it can 'see' in our stylesheets.

Very cool addition to adsense though, IMO.

As per this page, "When a user youíve referred to Firefox plus Google Toolbar runs Firefox for the first time, youíll receive up to $1 in your account, depending on the userís location." So I guess even if you are not in the US you still would receive the $1. Its just that the user's location matters and probably it won't be restricted to US only.

    cheers!

They can keep the $1 I hate firefox - have no interest in spreading it. I have better things to do.
