yo, I'm from Brooklyn. it's kinda foggy but I remember buying 5 cent loosies, z28 iron ons, hanging out with biker gangs, drinking 40's, going to lamours, Mccarren pool, apollo 5 speed, playing in abandon lots and buildings under the koch administration, lol, eating two slices of pizza, rumbles, skipping school going to time sq to play defender for 8+ hours and most important of all bombing the hell out of the J and M lines...

Yes, I saw the ads. Marty Rules! Thanks to him I saw live performances by Patty La Belle, Liza Manelli, Regina Bell, Michael Bolton, the Brothers Johnson and Shaggy (my taste in music is quite eclectic) all for free. Thankfully he got re-elected. Free concert series in Brooklyn 2006, here I come.

    Utica and Church
My Mom used to wheel us there in the baby carriage, we were only a few blocks away, about a block past Church & Troy Ave. There was a Rand's cleaners about a half block up from Church & Utica, a woman once went to hit my brother while we were waiting in line and my mother punched her right through the plate glass window out onto the street.

Saturday matinees at the ... Rugby
Sure did go, it was a couple of doors up from Rands - which was a few doors up from Ebingers and a few blocks from Bohacks. I saw "Prince Valiant" with Robert Wagner at the Rugby, he was my first movie star crush.

That kid of mine sends me photos, and I start to get homesick all over again.

Gee and I thought that just our neighborhood had carpet guns. What no reference to Steeplechase or prospect park?

It was great gowing up in the 50's in Flatbush. Didn't realize how much I missed Ebingers. Cousin Brucie was the local star and won a fishing pole at the annual fishing contest at Prospect Park.

Life was sure simple and sweet.

If anyone misses a Bklyn "accent" this will bring back memories.

Be warned that he does drop the F bomb allot but if your really from Bklyn you won't mind it.
If you don't want to hear the f word don't click on this link.

Yes, he is quite kooky, but since the Boro President has almost no power anyway, bring on the kook, bring on the music!

    I'm in Canarsie.

And Marty might be a kook but he helped get us the Knicks and is one of the main figures behind the redevelopment of coney island.

But he is just a figure head nothing more.

Almost, HG. It's spelled "Oy Vey"

I currently call Bay Ridge home. Haven't been here long enough to relate many of those things, some of the sound as "only in Brooklyn".
