Any updates on cj's encryption feature?
I was wondering if there is any meaningful experience using cj's link encryption feature now that its been around for a while. Please share any experience positive or negative.

Several people here have reported slower/no sales on encrypted links. I have to agree with that assessment in my experience as well.

I'm in the process of removing them and replacing with standard CJ links when I come across them.

That's shocking. Any comments from CJ on this? I've been blindly using encrypted links for ages now so I hope it's not true... (or maybe I should hope it's true, since I'd now have a way to boost sales)

I've used them, but I have no way to tell if they're working correctly, since I have a mixture of encrypted and nonencrypted ones.

"I'm in the process of removing them...."

I'd take it one step further and use qksrv for everything. Those seem to track more reliably.

qksrv.net ; CJ's original tracking domain from before they started putting all the forks in the road.

So, based on the limited number of posts here, it seems probable that few people are using the encrypted links, and those that have are switching out of them.

I've read elsewhere that some have experienced increases in conversions because of a supposed reduction in hijackings. But, is it possible that cj doesn't track encrypted links as well as the old qksrv links, thus negating any benefit in reduced hijacking. And what about tracking the scrambled domains?

This is all confusing, and, I'm hopeful that others with experience can chime in to clarify things. It would be even more helpful if someone from cj could jump in here as was suggested earlier.

I switched all my links to encription right after they came out with it and my sales did not slow down they stopped. For months I have been replacing links. It could just be that I forgot what I was doing when things were going right. I even deleted a site and started over instead of changing out links. This is just what happened to me and I cant prove it was the cj links.

I tried the cj encrypted links and sales almost ground to a halt..
For a while I tried the new links with different domains but half the time they didn't work, went back to the old make them yourself qksrv links for those advertisers who have product linking available and I run them thru a redirection script and sales are just fine... Take it for what it's worth...

Nabeel: In CJ you can encrpyt a link so that your PID is not visible.

I've been using encrypted links for about 3-4 months and haven't seen any negative effects. Sales, Commissions and EPC are all up. That being said I really don't know if encrypted links have had any effect, positive or negative, on my sales.

Well, after about a month of experimenting with using encryption with one merchant, it seems to me that there has been a noticable increase in conversions. Nothing dramatic, but welcome, nevertheless.

Nor does there seem to be a problem with tracking.
