    Impressions Virsus Clicks
What is a good ratio of impressions virsus clicks? If you have 10,000 impressions what should the normal click ratio be?
    Thanks

i think there are too many ways of looking at it. I'd be more concerned about clicks vs. sales.

It really depends on the product/service offering.

Why not speak to specific Affiliate Managers and find out what the average 'good' conversion rate is for their program?

    Then you can compare.

A small ticket item will of course convert a lot more quickly than a big ticket item...

    Hope that helps.

Yep, Click vs. Sales would give you a better idea of performance.

I'd say they are equally important. If you have a healthy click-to-sale ratio, then optimizing your ads to increase CTR would presumably increase sales. When you have a great CTR, but a horrible conversion rate, that is when it's times to try out different merchants.

So am I right in putting it this way: impression/click ratio is a 'rough' indicator of how good the affiliate is, while the click/sales ratio is a 'rough' indicator of how good the merchant is.

(emphasizing 'rough' since there are tons of other factors involved)

Impression to click ratios as reported can often be very inaccurate anyway.

If you have 10 items on a page, each with it's own impression tracking pixel, and 1 out of 10 visitors clicks, your click-to-impression ratio will report at 1% even though it is actually 10%.
