Hi, I want to sell scripts from my site and allow a user to click a "buy now" link, pay through PayPal and then have the script sent to them through email.
I think the best solution is programming something using their API, but I thought I would ask first to see if anyone can give me some tips.

Paypal is quite hard to set up on this basis. I use Clickbank for individual downloads. The handling charges are higher but it is possible to pass parameters that can be easily read by PHP or CGI to process orders.

Also check RegNow, PayLoadz, as well as ClickBank. The ClickBank stats are so-so for sales reporting, but useless for measuring performance of ads, clicks, etc.
RegNow and ClickBank have affiliates that can also help boost your sales.
