November 27th, 2005, 08:39 PM #1Anyone Running ABEBOOKS?
I hope this has not already been posted, but if it hasn't just wanted to make everyone aware. They have a contest going on right now and if you enter to win, you get a $10 GC from their preferred partner
Here is the contest entry page with the info
and the thank you page leading to the sign up page for shopperdiscountsandrewards
just click on us or canada
But you have to sign up for shopper rewards to get that discount. I am assuming they are probably pushing this through mails to customers and when customers checkout, but I am not going to waste my money shopping here to find out. I am pulling this store now.

I'm an affiliate of abebooks.com and have been very satisfied with the program. If you have an issue, may I suggest that you get in touch with the affiliate program manager, Dustin Rideout (email@example.com)
I wouldn't worry about that $10 rebate offer.

I have contacted them, and it is not about a rebate offer.
It is about affiliates sending them customers who are then financially compensated for joining this "type" of program.
I am aware of three top performing affiliates who have already dropped them because of this, so this issue is not mine alone. This post is simply to let those of us who are aware of such practices know so they can make a decision to keep or drop this program.
If you are happy with this, carry on
