    How do you protect your sites from hackers?
    hmm anyone know how you protect your sites from hackers? private message me if you want or reply in this thread.

    One important rule is to keep all your server software and scripts up to date. If you run forum software or some other prefabricated scripts make sure you follow their updates closely and watch out for exploits. I've learned this lesson the hard way. Another good habit to get into is to use secure coding habits. Don't use global variables in PHP and be wary with file uploads. Don't allow files to be uploaded with an executable extension.

    When one of my websites goes live, I do not submit them to search engines, I don't even promote them. The way I see it, the less people who know about my websites, the less chance I have of them being hacked.
