    Anyone have problems with YOOX?
I finally figured out where my missing commissions from yesterday went....

Every sale that I had with YOOX was 'corrected' due to return merchandise.

I am finding that a little hard to believe.

Anyone have any feedback on this company? Trying to decide what to do with them.

    Thanks!
    ~Michelle

I had a 50% return rate - but my data point is hardly statistically significant. 2 sales, one of which was reversed.

I joined YOOX in July of 2004 and had a $573 comission the first week. I was ready to quit my day job and went full tilt into setting up a designer fashion site. I continued to make regular commissions in August, Sept and Oct though avg was nothing in near the whopper sale in July. Then in November 2004 I started to see 50% reversal rate. Nothing had been reversed prior to that.

Generally speaking 50% reversals probably not bad for designer fashion especially since their big selling point is free returns and they pay the shipping and make it easy to send stuff back. Also high ticket items that can be easily re-sold generally attract credit card fraud.

I stopped running PPC ads because the ROI deteriorated with the returns. Ironically the site I set up in July started getting 200 - 600 visitors a day for awhile until some Google updates have nocked it down quite a bit. But I made more from Zappos on that site than YOOX as YOOX has a much lower conversion rate.

YOOX does not sell the latest season's hot items, they are acting more as a clearance house for slow moving designer goods. YOOX does have one of the largest selections (except handbags) of designer goods of any online retailer so there are lots of niche designers to focus on from a keyword perspective.

Several news stories last year where even legitimate brick and motar retailers were caught selling fake goods has really diminished business for online retailers of authentic designer fashion items, as customers have a major trust issue unless its a big name store.

I've been promoting them since the first day they opened their program (on BF) and my experience is that reversals are about average for the type of products they offer; you can expect a high percentage, but nothing alarming in comparison to similar vendors. I wouldn't say it's as high as 50% over the course of time, though.
