His domain name sold for how much?
Why couldn't I have thought up domain names as he did?

    This is an interesting read

Wow, too bad I never got into that game. I guess the next best thing to do is to coin your own unique domain like "Google", "Yahoo" or "eBay". The shorter your domain is the better -- doesn't matter if it makes any sense.

Jeeese, I look back at so many domains and ask myself why I didn't reg that back when.

You can see a nice summary of domain sales at www.dnjournal.com , sometimes you just have to gawk at the prices those folks sell domains for.

Back in 2000, just three weeks after I started working at a new job, one of my co-workers quit. The reason? He'd just sold a domain name he registered in 1996 for $7 million. I believe that was the impetus for my domain name obsession.

    From this page: http://www.dnjournal.com/cover/2005/november.htm
The price tag was $55,750 and after some lengthy conversations with my wife, she agreed to let me take a second mortgage on our house to finance the purchase.? (Editor?s Note: WHOA! Stop the tape! I?m trying to digest that one. Is it just me, or can any of you other guys imagine going to your wife and saying ?honey, would you mind if I take a second mortgage on the house to buy a domain name?? Thanks, I didn?t think so!)
Maybe i'll give it a try but, if you don't see me around, I'll be at the local hospital with an 'a_ _ woopen'

LOL I get the evil eye if I just mention buying a new domain name for nine bucks... I'm almost willing to give it a try just to see her expression, but I don't think I could keep a straight face

Hehe, you shoulda seen me trying to explain a $980 domain bill a while back. "But, honey......." Much @ss kissing ( or was that kicking ) was involved.

This was the page I was originally referring to:

Interesting. Perhaps it's time to have a rummage in my portfolio of names to see what I can find
