Question Angel or Star on top the tree?
When I was a kid we always had a star on top our tree.
Hubby's family always had an Angel on top their tree.

I'm getting new ornaments this year, I'm trying to decide if I'll put a Star or an Angel up there in future years.

Just wondering what everyone else puts on top their trees?

No brainer. You are the woman, its going to be a Star. LOL whenever my wife asks my opinion I just nod and agree with her, I know she has already made her decision, asking my opinion is just her way of being polite.

I don't ask hubbies opinion after my mind is made up, that leads to arguements... LOL

Whichever ornament will actually stand upright gets the top of the tree. Usually an angel ...

Thanks for the vote. I had to vote Angel cause that's what's been on top my tree since I got married...

BTW: there are 2 "Something else" choices. I'm guessing that HG's snowman was 1 of the votes, what is the other one?

This year we have a santa. We have had both an angel & a star but both broke. I was pissed off at my husband and bought the ugliest tree toper in the store, which just happened to be a santa

When I was growing up we always had this beautiful angel that my mom put on top of the tree. My first Christmas in my own home my mom gave me the angel as a gift. I just loved that angel but one year one of the wings broke off.

So now I have a star instead. It is really a cool star though - it plugs into the lights and has about 10 bulbs of its own.

We tried having a giant star for a while, but it was way too heavy and kept falling off. So a while back frustration won out and the star was changed for an angel.

For years in my family we had an angel that my sister had made when she was four - made out of a styrofoam cup and pipe cleaners... it was just too darned cute to not put up on the tree at first! Over the years though we all became quite attached to it, but its not so much an angel anymore...

But I won't know this year - as I am meeting the in-laws-to-be in Ireland this Christmas. So I don't know - maybe they crown their tree with Guinness? LoL.

    Hah Annabelle....

Mine's a tin Angel, a little battered over the years but it's managed to survive 5 house moves, one tree fire, a flood and an attack by my puppy...;-)

We have an Angel at the top. And I have some small Angel ornaments that my mother and I bought when I was a child that hang right under the top one.

Plus we put a small bell - everytime a bell rings, and Angel get's it's wings...

Every year I watch that movie...
And every year I tell myself that "this time I am NOT going to cry"...

Needless to say, every year, I find myself sniffling and choking down the tears. There's just something about Jimmy Stewart that makes a girl cry!

When my youngest son was 3, he made a santa with the help of big brother and that's what went on top of the tree. Despite being made of card and cotton wool it has survived the years and is now a central part of our own Christmas folklore.

In the early days we used to be able to point to the top of tree when he was being less than good and say "Look Santa's watching" - instant behaviour improvement.

I had to vote angel because that is what we have right now. I prefer a star, or when I used to make one out of gold ribbon that matched the bows that I made for the tree. Last year my husband bought this hideous, cheap-looking angel. I hate it, but he was so proud of himself for picking it out that I don't have the heart to tell him that I don't want it on the tree.

Maybe it will get "lost" and I'll have to replace it.
