What to expect from Shareasale or any network
If I sign up as a merchant with an affiliate network ... let's say Shareasale ... I know I can count on them to admin payment to affiliates and such.

But can I expect them to recruit a significant number of affiliates or is this another chore I need to approach from another angle?

    Thanks for your reply

You can definitely count on them paying your affiliates, but I wouldn't expect them recruiting affiliates for your, Worthen! That's just not the business they are in (unless you advertise at their "featured program" spots, of course). Networks help you manage the existing affiliates, not the prospective ones... Of course, you will be listed in their directory of merchants. But so are all other merchants (including your competitors). Recruiting "significant numbers of affiliates" is what you are to do; not the network you're on.

    Good luck!

Another option is to outsource the AM role to a company that specializes in recruitment and retaining affiliates. This is independent of your decision to go with a network or in-house system.
